Block Heater on a Pontiac Wave?

Post by Ripples »

Hi guys, just bought a 06 Wave. Going to be using it for a winter car and also some autocrossing in the summer. One problem I'm having is I can't seem to find the block heater.Anyone know where it is?TIA

Since this is a Vibe forum you would be lucky to get an answer here. If it has one a Pontiac dealer would be able to tell you. On the Vibe the plug is usually rolled up and tucked in beside the battery. Autocross a Wave? Why not a Smart car?

Block heaters are available, but not usually standard on the US models, I hear the Canada models usually have it. A toyota dealer or pontiac dealer will be able to get you one at retail. Or check ebay. Many people autoX the vibe, I would suggest all the suspension upgrades and good tires and you'll do great!

A partsource (or equivilent) should sell generic block heaters for under $100.

Hey My fiance drives a wave...and the block heater as I know it is an option not a standard feature I would be sure that you got that on the vehicle in the first place. If you do have it it should be tucked up in the front bumper all icely with a zip tie. atleast that is where hers was

I don't know about the SCCA rules on Ontario but would they even allow a Smart car on course? lol while it may be small its kinda tall. The Vibe is a great autocross car. I did my first year of SCCA at the local chapter here and got second place in STS. Great weight transfer but lacked low end torque. You can fix that with a few mods though. On to the block heater question. It should have one tucked away behind the driver's headlight between it and the battery.
