Yes ladies and gentlemen it is time for another installment of Redlava's (removed)!? moment. So, I was doing my laundry at my apartment complex's laundromat. It is it's own separate building not the kind with a washer and dryer on every floor of the building. Let me start out by saying that I am not the type of person that lets their stuff sit in the equipment for 5 hours because I have the attention span of a goldfish. I put my stuff in, go back to my apartment, and then come back when the time is up. I put two loads in the washer, shirts, socks and skivies in one and jeans and towels in the other. After they get done I put them in two dryers. I come back an hour later and my clothes are gone. Well I should say almost everything. There sitting on one of the tables are a pair of my jeans and three t-shirts neatly folded. Everything else is gone. (removed)!?!?!I don't have too much problem with people taking my stuff out of a dryer if they need to use it and sitting it on a table, I've done that my own self once or twice. But how in the hell can somebody mistake ones clothes for somebody else's? And why on Earth would somebody take my socks and boxers, but leave a few items from each dryer folded on a table? This is the issue I have. If somebody did this accidentally, why leave stuff behind? If you thought it was yours, wouldn't you take all of it? But if you were doing it intentionally why would you leave jeans and t-shirts, things you could sell or wear easily, but take socks, boxers, and towels?Boggles the mind a bit, doesn't it?Right now there is little I can do. I have notified the rental office of what happened, and I have posted signs in the laundromat and main office notifying people to check their clothes for things that may not be theirs. Beyond that there is nothing I can do. There is a sign posted in the laundromat talking about the premises is monitored with a camera, but I have never seen one so I think that is a bunch of BS to keep people from stealing stuff and vandalizing the place. I'll keep you posted on any further developments.
I'm guessing nobody took them by accident. My apartment complex had a problem with clothes disappearing and they locked the laundry rooms up tighter than fort knox. Would have been nice if they'd left you some clean underwear.
Reading this makes me glad I have my own place. If I'm missing anything,I just have to yell at the wife. Sucks about what happened though, hopefully it was just a mistake, but you may never see your clothes again.

I used to have someone take my clothes out of the dryer BEFORE the cycle was complete and use the remaining time to dry their clothes.

sucks to hear, we had problems like that in our old apartment, whenever my mom did the laundry she'd stay downstairs and do whatever she did, probably crossword puzzles or read a book
maybe someone likes you a little too much to develop some fetishes of boxer/sock whatever stealing....lol....good luck in finding the guy/girl that did it....
lol, (removed)? that sucks but its an awesome story

I've kinda went the way of renting basement suites. Much more privacy as opposed to an apartment building.

People are just plan idiots in apartments! I used to love the people that left their cloths in the dryers for hours and forget about them. There was no place to put them if YOU wanted to use the dryer. Absent minded people! Or smoke in the hallways. The biggest issue I had was this guy in a Mustang GT thought I was throwing coffee on his car. He left notes on all the doors in my building but then he was convinced it was me and left me a nasty note on my car with his phone if I wanted to talk. I went to the Police, gave them the note and told them I did not appreciate him touching my new car with only two payments on it. The police called the guy and taped the entire call playing it back to me. He said things like well I pass his car back and forth to my car and building. Yeah so, I have to! And that the jacket I had, it was a Chevrolet jacket, made him think I hate Fords and wanted to throw coffee on his Stang! The cops told him to knock it off and asked if he knew of any enemies or X's that might have done it. The fact of the matter is, I would never take my frustrations out on a defenseless car. And second, I do not drink coffee! Never have! He moved out shortly after that and I did about a year later...

Only complete jerks mess with people's cars. Even if I really didn't like someone, I wouldn't touch their car. It's just something people shouldn't do. Sorry about your laundry redlava. Like people said, I think the only way to prevent this is to stay put and watch your laundry. My Nintendo DS came in handy when I lived in apartment. The other thing you can do is raid people's homes and search for your stuff. But that's illegal, so you probably shouldn't do that.
Still no word. I'm hoping that the person accidentally did it and will see one of my signs that I put up in the office or laundromat. Thankfully I still have socks, boxers and towels so I don't have to go out and buy any just yet. But if I don't hear anything by the first of next week then I will give them up for lost. There was only a couple of things in there that I will miss, but they are easily replaceable.I have lived in apartments with all different kinds of laundry facilities for 12 years and this has never happened to me. Course this is kind of a ghetto apartment building so I have seen a lot of stuff happen here that I have never seen before.I never stay with my laundry because I am never gone that long. I've tried a few times, but even with a book and/or the TV going it is still really boring. I'd rather watch TV on my own couch or cruise the net while my stuff goes. And it wouldn't be the first time I've had a stalker.
man, that reminds me of when I was in the USAF. I did a load of socks, tshirts and wear and I went back and they were gone. (removed), why would someone want someone else's underwear ? thats too strange
