Another 2005 check engine light...

P0441 (EVAP small leak detected) and P0455 (EVAP large leak detected). I know, I know, check the gas cap...Gas cap has been checked and tightened many times. I checked the o-ring, everything seems to be sealing. Been through 3 tanks and light is still on. Went to every auto part store to buy a new gas cap but nobody has the correct one. Every computer links it to a gas cap that is the threaded variety. Mine is not threaded, has the two tabs that lock into place. Does anybody have any advice (besides tighten the gas cap)? Does anybody know what gas cap (part number/brand) will fit? Checked the price for a new one at the dealer and it's $35... Dealer says this problem is not covered under the federal emissions warranty.

Welcome! Sorry it has to be on such a bad note that you joined. $35 seems kinda steep for a gas cap. I'm sure you can find one cheaper online somewhere. Or you could try a local junk yard. I'm not 100% sure but the gas cap for the Matrix or possibly a Corolla should fit.
