Should this have been fixed?

Post by VforVIBE »

I was putting one of my small grilles back in and I noticed this...what it should look like...Now, the damage was caused by my accident (click sig for thread). now my question is when this was in the shop, should this have been fixed or is this just cosmetic? I've already had to take her back four extra times now because of panels not lining up and missing retaining clips, so I'm not happy with my body shop.

There might be, when I drive at higher speeds (50 mph) I notice a sound coming from up in front the drivers side kinda like the sound your windows make when there not up all the way, or when you door is not shut all the way. But I don't know if it has anything to do with it.Quote, originally posted by Sublimewind »It looks like that is the lower frame horn where the bumper beam attaches to correct? Yep

repaired/paid for by insurance last time? call them and check to see if you can get an incomplete repair claim started. I'd complain about it if it was my car.

You should get it fixed it's part of the crumple zone for the front end if you where to get in other accident it could cause more damage because, it could have been weaken from the other accident, It also looks like it's been pushed back about 1/4 to a 1/2 in hard to tell in the pic,but might be other reason why everything has not been lining up right

I have seen this many times... Most people do not catch it and the body shop thinks most wont. You always have to go over a car with a fine tooth comb after body work! I have seen over spray on windows, missing fasteners. All kinds of stuff from when I detailed cars to pay my way through college. I agree, though take it back, someone can straighten it by hand and paint it or put some kind of coating on it. Tell them you own the car and plan on keeping it for awhile and want it to last.

Thanks everyone for the advise, I defiantly wanted to take it back, and know I know it's worth it, thanks again.
