I have a question about using a bosch 02 sensor in an 03' Vibe GT. I just spoke with a Toyota Mechanic and he said that my P0300, P0301, P0303 and P0304 errors were from replacing a bad O2 sensor with a Bosch Sensor.Has anyone else heard or experienced it?Thanks,
Those are misfire codes. 300 random/multiple misfire,301,303 and 304 are cylinder 1,3 and 4 misfires. Your car should be running super rough with all these misfiring. I have never heard of an o2 sensor doing this. It sounds more like a fuel injector problem. If it's still driveable run a tank of Techron to see if it improves, it worked on my '06 and my truck when I had misfires. Don't drive it too far if you start getting a flashing CEL, this means real trouble and further damage to cats etc. could result.
It only runs rough when it idles when it is warm. It runs fine when I am driving. I put a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank. I am half through the tank and it is still causing problems. The CEL isn't flashing though.
Hi Idaho,I'm no expert but I did order a Bosch o2 sensor from Advance Auto to replaced my 1st sensor (the one right befor the cat). It came in a Bosch box but it said Denso on it. It also had the Toyota stamp on it as well, if I remember correctly. I was concerned that I got gypped but Advance auto said it was how they come. (not that I really trust them though). I haven't had an issue with mine though apparently it may not actually be a Bosch (or bosch makes the denso o2, or vise versa)So, I'm no expert but I don't think having a Bosch o2 would be the issue unless there is something wrong with that particular sensor to begin with.Dave
I didn't think so either. It just doesn't make sense. I think they just want to sell me more expensive parts. I am taking to the shop tomorrow morning. I'll see what they have to say. Thanks everyone!
