Well I finally did it. In 2003 my wife fell in love with the Vibe. Over a year ago we went to get a new car and somehow ended up with a Nissan Versa SL. We've had it since Sept 2006. Alright car, smooth running, very comfortable, but about as boring as some of the food shows my wife watches. The Versa was rated 30 / 36 mpg. We kept a spreadsheet since day one, put on 26k miles in 15 months, and only averaged 24.5 mpg overall. Worst, highway, higher speed trips (75-80 mph) only yielded 21-22 mpg!So this week we took the hit on the Versa and got a left over 2007 Vibe with auto (western edition with moon n tunes and monotone Stealth blue). We could've held out for a 2008 or even waited for the 2009 but I couldn't beat the price ($3k off msrp) and I suspect the 2009 will get less mpg's. Anyway, we are excited about the new Vibe and I've been watching this forum for about 2 weeks now. The first item on the agenda is to get some type of plug in for the wife's iPod. Any suggestions?I've attached a copy of my window sticker just for kicks....
welcome to the board and congrats on the purchasei passed on the fm modulator and spent a lil more money for a guarenteed connection. i got the GM12-AUXv2 from crutchfield. dont know if crutchfield has updated their site or not but at the time it wasnt listed as compatable but it is and has been working great. it was really easy to install. i followed this installhttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=24286
Do you mid if I ask??? What are folks paying for 2007's ??? I see - but couldn't dowload your sticker - you paid 3k below MRP but all said, what was your bottom line cost? We just picked up a 2006, already have a 2005 and who knows? Would love to get another one for *somebody*!
MSRP was $20,200. Sale price with rebates was $17,249. Price with special financing was $18,999. For the $1,750 difference I opted for the 1.9% for 6 years to make the payment lower. I know this is not the lowest price out there but I also know invoice is around $19,000 so I didn't complain about the price. Also the cheap price helped out with my trade which was upside down.
I looked at that adapter on Crutchfield and I looked up my radio in my owners manual. I guess I have the base radio (no mp3 playback) The manual makes no reference at all about the CD / AUX button other than to say it's for the CD. What about the AUX part of it? The adapter appears like it needs the cd changer option in the head unit. Does mine have that? Also, I do not have the band button in the lower left corner of the radio. That's where my volume button is.

I think 60 months at 0% ($19,000/60 = $317) would have been a better deal than 72 months @1.9% ($279/mo) but that's just my aversion to paying what I calculate to be the equivalent of 24% interest for that 6th year. But if one doesn't have that extra $38 a month you do what you have to do. On the 2008's the deal is the $1,250 rebate OR 4.9% for 3 years. If I could trade that $1,250 rebate for 0% 5 year that would make up my mind.

Congratulations, I believe it's a good deal. I bought my 2007 before Thanksgiving, 2006, happy with it, but cannot get better than 24-24.5 mpg. Most driving is in the city.
i dont know how much i get, sometimes i drive steady, shift around 3k, but other times im a speed demon and go from first-second-third at around 6k each..whats a real easy way to do it?? i'd like to get one of those scan tools that actually show me

Most driving is in the city. I don't think that is abnormal. I can get 32-33 on a trip, but in normal driving which for me is probably 70/30 city/hwy I see 25-27 mpg.

I also don't think this is abnormal for automatic, but expected better mpg. Maybe with more mileage (I have only about 5300 on the odometer so far) the mpg value will improve.
