Roof rack

Post by score1231 »

I got a 2004 Vibe GT, great car by the way.Does anybody know how to take of the cross bars on the roof rack.I live in Michigan and we get alot of snow, I would so much easier to clean the roof without them.

at the back of the railings, theirs a plastic cover that you can pop off, and then just slide the bars out

There've been a few threads on removing the crossbars, here's one:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5194Note that some people have had problems getting the black plastic caps to come off without breaking. Picking a relatively warm day and possibly heating things up with a hair dryer or equivalent seems like a good idea to avoid having the plastic crack.
