sirius satelite radio

Does anybody has a sirius receiver, cause I would like to know if the service is good, well if it works fine, and if the 15$/month is a decent price. I would also like to know if you guys think that satelite radio is better than fm radio, not only in the quality, cause i have a good idea on that, but on the amount of music, channels etc...(does it worth the price)thanks in advance!!!!!

Sorry cnat comment on Sirius because I have XM, but I can say that it is so much better then FM. If you dont live close to a metropolitan area the sat radio is a great choice for varaity. I listen to alot of Jazz and Blues music and local stations dont support my favorite generes, (that and I dont have an FM tuner). There are down sides though as well as upsides. There are alot of stations that play alot of repeats (I.E. the top 40 and top 20 stations just licke the local radio station but for the most part there will be alot of variety in the playlist for different channels. You will here alot of the new music fairly quickly. I think sat radio is a good investment but I only listen to it for about 5 min a day. I've had both XM and Sirius, and I prefer Sirius. I think their programming is better. I never, ever listen to FM radio anymore. I have a one hour commute to and from work, so I get my money's worth out of the satellite radio. I only had my car a month before I was tearing out the stock radio and installing one that was Sirius compatible. I'm at the point that I hate days when I have to drive my truck, just because it doesn't have Sirius. Go to their web site and check out the programming. I think you'll be impressed.

I recently got a new Vibe with XM....it wasn't something I specifically wanted......but wow.....after just a few days I finally realized why people were willing to pay for radio....its awesome....I think its well worth it.

My wife bought a Sirius radio for me over a year ago. I don't listen to much else now. It's great on long road trips...never lose the station. I use it a lot for listening to college and pro football games when I'm on the road. And, I'm an "old school" metalhead and love the Hair Nation and Buzzsaw stations!

Down here in the US where Clear Channel is king and have used their power to turn FM into nothing but a vast wasteland of dumbed down content, tiny, way-too-repetitive playlists, and 90 minutes of commercials every hour, satellite radio is a must. I've got Sirius and enjoy it, much better than the garbage I hear elsewhere on the radio (NPR excluded, that's about the only thing worth listening to on terrestrial anymore, IMHO.) There's enough content there to please almost anybody. The playlists seem to be pretty decent, except for the top 40 crap but that's because it's top 40 crap. I can usually find something somewhere that I like listening to.They've made me want to drop the service a few times, they keep screwing around with channels I enjoy listening to so they can put up payola single artist channels. They just whacked one of the three jazz channels so they could move another existing channel to that spot so they can in turn put up an all fricken grateful dead channel. They do something stupid like that about once a year. Sound quality is so-so on some channels as was mentioned. The talk channels have lower bandwidth, and sometimes they play music so when they do it isn't great. And for some reason, the 70's channel has bandwidth issues too, it sounds like you're listening to an AM station from the one single center dash speaker on a 1974 Pinto. If you're going with a plug-and-play unit to use with your stock system, you'll definitely want to consider the FM direct antenna relay, the transmitters built into the tuners now barely work compared to how good they were a few years back (thanks, FCC!) Sure, they tick me off with their programming changes and my Sportster Replay tuner is a pile of feces but all in all, I'm content with the service. Great for taking long trips especially. Much better than the alternative - I can't stand listening to FM anymore, even though it is free.

I bought the Sirius Sportster 5 today to put in my Rogue! They seemed to have more of what we were looking for in their lineup (CBC radio for the hubby).

I've got CBC on one of my presets - good stuff, I especially like As It Happens. The local NPR station used to air it but took it off, so Sirius is the only way I can hear it now - thanks, Sirius. lol!The Sportster 5 looks like a great radio, very sharp display on it.

I haven't installed it yet... waiting for it to warm up a bit. The hubby likes Cross Country Checkup and the news on CBC... whenever I get into the car after he's been driving, its on CBC and I quickly change it over to my station.

Got XM for xmas, so only had it 3 weeks...so far not impressed. Just about every channel I listen to has comercials. I can receive the Phoenix area AM & FM stations while commuting to work and get pretty much the same content. Did I mention that we now pay $12.95/month to listen to what use to be free? That is $155.40 a year plus the cost on the radio.

Hi,I have a new Vibe 2008, without the stock XM radio.I'm wandering, if one is interested in adding either Sirius or XM, how can this be integrated with the stock radio to get the sounds out the speakers? The radio does not have any line in or AUX port.Thanks

I have both, XM and Sirrus, and I'll be glad once the merger is over and done! I loved XM, but Sirrus has better stations now by far. Meall, which radio do you have? Single CD, or Multi-disc?

South Florida FM is controlled by clearchannel and infinityAnd yes the antenna relay goes a very long way, it is worth the money for the parts invested into that. I have a sportster replay 4 with the antenna relay in the vibe (i wish it had red LED's versus the blue/white). However i installed another receiver in my girlfriends caravan without the relay for the NC trip and we kept having to change the FM channel around in different places.

I can record the programs I like i.e. talk radio, old time radio shows and classic rock then replay them when and where I want to. The best feature is I can skip over the comercials.

I started my car this morning with two inches of snow covering my Sirius antenna, and was surprised that I still got reception. I wish my Directv reception was that good.
