Post by WaveAction »

well i got bored one day, and took apart my 1/18th size pontiac vibe gtr, and im gonna wet sand and paint the car to the same color as my vibe, and somehow paint the rims gold instead of the gunmetal ones it has now, so here's a pic of it taken apart hopefully i'll be done sometime next weekend

Thats funny as hell seeing that model tore down. I guess I need to find one along with a can of stealth spray paint.

Sounds cool! Should look great once you are done! I have done things like this too in the past by just scuffing the paint and re-spraying it. Why gold rims though? Your car does not have them.Try model paint if you still want the gold.

it's easy stuff man, probably held on by about 10 screws in total..the doors and trunk/hood all come off..trunk/hood is held on by 2 screws each with a plate over the actual latch..and each door is 1 screw..body is held in by a few screws aswell..and the plastic parts like the door panels and front wheels just pop out

You may have too much time on your hands...You need some little tiny grafwerx overlays now.

well i put it back together and took off all the tape..my brain hurt trying to figure out exactly which screws went where..lol..but over all i like it..as i was taking off the tape..some of the paint did peel abit..at the bottom of the headlight and around the license plate on the back hatch..doesnt look as good as i was hoping but i did rush it..total of an hour to paint everything..but oh well..it's different and i enjoy it.

All in all, looks very nice! I'm tempted to get the GT-R model now too, but I don't have anything in the 1:18 scale models. The Binaltech/Alternators Transformers figures I have are all 1:24 scale and my little Vibe fits in just perfectly.
