A/C Compressor Locked Up

Hi folks,I'm posting my recent experience in the event someone else has had the same thing happen.I purchased my brand new 2008 Vibe on Friday, 12/28/07. On Sunday, 01/06/08, I realized that I had yet to turn on the defroster or run the A/C. I kicked on the A/C compressor and it ran perfectly fine for about thirty seconds before it locked up and killed the engine. My dealer got the car in on Monday and I picked it up Wednesday morning. A new A/C compressor was installed under warranty at 457 miles and so far it's working fine.I really like the Vibe so far and I don't anticipate that I'll have further problems. Later,PlatinumVibe08

Wow, that sucks. Don't hold that against your car. I love my Vibe. It has been a great car.

Welcome aboard and it sucks to have that happening already... Hopefully one fix and you'll be good. Did they have any ideas why it happened?I had a lot of trouble with A/C compressors on the Vibe also, it sucked. I hope it's over for you - sometimes this stuff just happens.
