title pretty much says it all. Brake Check is a Texas chain and just opened a store here is College Station. I have 17,000 on my 05 but have had it 29 months with mostly city driving. Sometimes I get a slight squeel when I turn left and brake but pretty quiet otherwise. I'd like to take it in and have the brakes looked at.is Brake Check ok ? has anyone used a Goodyear dealer ? or reccomend another chain ? I'd rather not take it to the dealer and pay 2-3 times what normal places would charge.

How are you at doing things like this yourself?? the brakes are SUPER simple on this car, well minus the drums in the back, and they really aren't that bad...I haven't herd of them... so I can't coment, but I DO have a front brake tutorial in here somewhere... take a look, maybe you could save yourself some frogskins..
there is often a deal at Firestone that they will do a free break check with a coupon. Other places I've seen charge $30 for a complete break check and a clean and adjust.I have seen several of the Break Check Shops around the Austin area but as I am a new resident I know nothing about their reputation.
from what i have heard Brake check is pretty $$ but they do some good work. i had mine done at midas (never go there, wayyy too much for resufacing, pads, and shoes.)
I just got back from a Break Check. I had them do a FREE break inspection. I had 49500 miles and the report back was everything looks really good. And that the Only thing they would recomend would be a break fluid flush quoted $80. I think I can find a friend and do it myself cheaper than that. He also said that I have about 15K miles before the front brakes would need anything done. But the service i did recieve was good. While I did not have any actual service work performed I would go back should the need arise.
