2009 Pricing - Base

Post by jake75 »

Well - in reading what is on the KBB site I see how Pontiac reduced the price of the 2009 by about $1,500. A/C which has been standard is now a $950 option. The Pfd package has been increased from $850 to $945. Actual reduction is about $500 at invoice level. My wants and needs are limited to AT, Pfd Pkg and A/C.The 2008 so equipped has MSRP 19,095, Inv. 17,966.00The 2009 so equipped has MSRP 18,640, Inv. 17,468.55 Of course with the 2009 you are getting 4 wheel antilock disc brakes, side airbags, and I think I read somewhere stability & traction control.

For some reason, making A/C an option is becoming popular again. Pontiac is certainly not the first to make a new car that way and the numbers are increasing. I'll tell you that around here with 100+ degree heat in the late summer... no thanks. I'll take my A/C, thanks!

I don't know about that. I know a few people personally who have intentionally omitted A/C both as a cost savings and as an alleged fuel saving option. I find the fuel savings bit to be a little dubious, but whatever makes them happy.

Canadian & Alaskan buyers now have an option for no A/C but a engine block heater is probably still standard for them. lol.

A/C should be standard. I don't know how I would survive without it.

i think i used my AC twice last summer...so meh duluth usually has a cool wind most the time off the lake, but there are 2-3 weeks of intense heat so i like my AC hmm wonder what the GT will cost......

i had a buddy who bought a suzuki samurai way back when they first came out. he needed a cheap car, so he thought with the removable top, he could forego the AC and have an even smaller monthly payment. he turned into barbecue that summer

1. A/C probably adds a little weight2. Isn't the A/C necessary/helpful in defrost/defog mode?3. Would think that resale would suffer w/o A/C. Might get nearly 100% of the cost back.

man, now that is very sneaky!!We held off on getting a 2008 Vibe because the 2009 Vibe was priced cheaper with more standard safety equipment options.. sly marketing by GM i have to say. that sux, but your still getting more for the money with a 2009 Vibe i think. but there most likely will not be any rebates also... so waiting for the 2009 Vibe might cost me more now, when before I was thinking I was going to save a little money.Dam.. sneaky *******s GM!!!!Has anyone been able to order a 2009 Vibe yet? (non GT)Our local Dealer is telling us we can only order the GT model right now. Which we do not want.anyone?thanks!

Of course you have to keep in mind this is in MT where it's oppressively humid if it hits 40%. At any rate, with all the standard safety stuff and looking at the pricing... I might just end up having to get an '09.

I hate A/C. I only use it maybe twice a year, but when my fiance is in the car I freeze. I prefer windows down and roof open, even if its hot. I personally drive around in the winter with my roof vented when its in the 30's, and then when it gets to mid 40's and up the roof is wide open!
