Brrrrr that would be cold. Unless you have a drysuit. I know that parts of the Great Lakes when wreck diving require a drysuit even in the summer cause of the temps down low. Personally I've only dived in RI, CT, Bermuda and Aruba. Got my license as part of a course in college. They offered it as like an alternate to gym. Could have done sailing (which I already know) or something else, but you took the class, and all the tests and in water training went towards an actual grade. Pass the final test and you were eligible to head up to RI to dive in Naragansett for the test and license. I don't use it often cause when on vaca it's hard to not drink for 24 hours prior to diving But it's nice to have.
Yup...I have a dry suit and more wetsuits than a sane person should have.There are some decent dives that don't require a DS in August...you just don't go toooooo deep.Besides, that far down there are probably monsters anyway so why risk it?
