new to the forum / heater problem? repair manual??

Hello, just signed on.got a new vibe in 04. automatic,no sunroof,w/painted bumpers.got the car with intention of supercharging down the road. right now I have a heater issue.my wife says the heater only works on high.I check it and the contol feels kind of worn so I replace the complete heater control.175 dollars later I get it installed same thing??the switch feels better ,only works on high speed??anyone have this problem? the car has less than 30,000 on it!any help would be great.also anyone know where to get a repair manual for this car??I saw one on line for 175 bucks??thanks ,Spike

Sounds like your blower motor resistor,it's cheaper than the $175 you spent on the controls.Good luck finding a supercharger though.

SEems like on a lot of cars, when the blower motor resistor fails, the motor still works, but only on top speed. Engouh people have had that problem now in the Vibe and fixed it with a new resistor that it is very likely the cause.Are you beyond the three year warranty?

yeah, but it's actually a toyota supercharger with a gm badge. it's also been discontinued, so they're pretty hard to find. keep your eyes on ebay, and the for sale forums on here and on http://www.matrixowners.com

you can download two different versions of the repair manual for the car. Go on to matrixowners.com and right on their front page you will see in big red letters04-07 repair manual and right below that in the same window you will see the 03 version. I only mentioned it since s-o-m initially posted about the HVAC blower. I have both versions, I like the 03 on better, but perhaps thats because I have an 03. Thanks for posting the links, I think they are a great resource, and have helped me do a lot of things to my car.

so I got the blowermoter resistor today.havent looked at it yet.thats to bad about the supercharger being discontinued.

Glad it's fixed do you still have the old HVAC control? Seems like the light bulbs in it are hard to come by

I am also looking for the blower motor resistor. Where is the best place to get it? I have looked locally and no store seems to carry it. Also how tuff is it to install?

did you try saving it to the computer your using in stead of just opening it up?I just tried it again.. worked, no problem.

Well, I finally got the DL to iniate for me, and it DLed 512kb and ended TWICE... So i donno.... Anyone wanna burn it and send it to me? I'll pay... something.. ?
