Just to add, blown speakers (usually open) cause no problems, BUT shorted speakers (wires usually) usually take out the output IC in the HU.... not good...

It is the 200 watt premium audio system that came with the moon and tunes package. Would all of the spkrs blow at the same time? It was after my wife had the battery replaced.

Do any work recently that could have pinched a speaker wire and it is shorting out? I did this once when installing a set of new speakers in the back of my old truck. I ran the wires under the carpet by the doors and when I put the trim piece back on it caught the wire and pulled enough of the shielding back where it was shorting out on the metal of the body. Just a thought.
