amp/speaker help

Post by Insulted »

Ive tried this a lot of ways and i can't figure out whats wrong..I have a american pro 800w amp, i bought the wiring installation kit from walmart and its only 650w but i figured it would be good enough. So i connected the 12w+ to the positive of the battery, and connected the ground to the negitive of the battery. The wire from my stero for the subs is a RCA cable, so i took a few rca cables and connected it and split the end to wire into the amp. Then i wired the speakers in, but it doesn't turn the amp on at all... Any idea on what i could have done wrong?

How about the remote turn on wire? It's blue in this schematic.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

2nded^^^^^^You need power, ground and remote for an amp... (remote is a low current 12v switched power, JUST to turn the amp on)Your RCA cables "should" have a wire molded between the 2 cables for use as a remote wire...
