yellow fog light bulbs

Post by Scootman! »

I looked around and found little in past threads about yellow fog light-bulbs. I just ordered some Euro-Blue bulbs and I am now looking for yellow fog lamp bulbs. Has anyone done this yet and if so, where can I find reasonably priced yellow bulbs. I have thought about purchasing the yellow tint for the exterior of the fog lamp, but I want to benefit fully from the yellow fog lamp bulb.

I got a pair off of E-bay. Good price and good Quality also. Mine is the only one around that I have seen with them.

Over time the yellow tint on the bulb will fade and flake off. Regardless of the brand it eventually happens. Also check the wattage cause with a tinted bulb you typically need higher wattage to achieve the same light output as stock. I got the yellow vinyl covers from Ycart over at Matrixowners.com. Look good and lasts longer!

You could go HID and get a 3500k bulb (I think that is the most "yellow" output") I'd have to go out to my HID site to verify, but I'm too lazy/sick to do so...

The only yellow tinted covers that I found were almost $40 and for that much money I would rather buy the bulbs. In terms of going HID, way too much money for me!

Yellow fog covers you can get from Myvibetoolguy for cheaper than that.I am referring to the actual vinyl overlay that goes on the lens. I got a nice yellow cover for I think $15 from Ycart and then the covers from Myvibe.taken with a cell phone with my HIRs on in one of them.

Thanks for the pics, looks exactly what I'm looking for, but I think I am still going to go with the bulbs.

One other alternative is getting the capsules like they have on Lexus. They are yellow capsules that fit over your bulb then you insert it. They go for about $30. http://www.hidtech.com/

Those capsules look like a really good idea. One of my yellows burnt out the other month after like three months. They were Excelites I believe.

Well I went ahead and ordered some headlamp bulbs off of e-bay for $20 which includes shipping and insurance, but when they came I noticed that it says HID on the packaging. The way it seems to me is that they claim results similar to HID. Any input? Here is a link to the exaxt bulbs I bought https://www.eurodezigns.com/shop/detail.aspx?ID=87. I also purchased a set of fog lamp bulbs from http://store.candlepower.com/naal90hye55w.html which raven recommended.

The Eurodezigns give the apperance of HID bulbs. I had a set on my truck for a couple of days but didn't like them. It was like driving in a blue fog. You should like the Narva fogs. Those bulbs are recommended by Daniel Stern. I got the link to candlepower from his website.

Thanks for the info, hopefully the Eurodezigns work out and if not I'll put the original bulbs back in.

well I installed the new euro blue bulbs and I am eagerly awiting night fall so I can go for a drive. Hopefuuly the bulbs don't blow up since I touched the glass numerous times. I used rubbing alcohol in an attempt to clean off any oils that may have come in contact with the bulbs.
