The Vibe IS BACK IN COMMISION......!!!!!!!

Post by Sublimewind »

Hi all,Many of you know I parked the Vibe in favor of the Subaru... The Subie had snow tires and well, AWD.... It's looking like I'm selling the Subie and I had a moment of clarity last night.....5x100......................................5x100.............................The bolt pattern on BOTH the Vibe and the Subaru............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can feel safe again, driving the VIBE..!!I'm an IDIOT....!!!! DOH....... So HERE WE ARE...... sorry about the crappy pic... Awful close on the caliper clearance.... !!! (~5-10mm)It looks like I either need to paint the stock wheels black, or get some black wheels, cause the black on white is HOT.... Cheers....

Nice to see your using the vibe. I just put on some Michelin X-Ice with Kosei K3 wheels on the vibe. Haven't had the chance to hit any snow with it yet but I've good things about those tires and they have to be better than crappy all seasons. I've never had a problem with a fwd car with snows on all 4 corners

Yeah, the Michies are some of the top rated studless tires out there... I have some very cheap WinterForce snows and so far so good.... they arent so great on ice like say a Blizzak, but they are AWESOME in the snow, deeper the better....alas, i'm already missing my Subaru... not that the Vibe is a shlep, but the manual AWD of the subaru is so....so...... GREAT.....

Lucky for you the hub center is the same size or you might start getting some vibration when they settle in. No problems with rubbing or turning? I thought the Subaru offset was something like 55mm and the Vibe was around 40mm.

I thought the Subaru offset was something like 55mm and the Vibe was around 40mm. The hub center is "close" it's ever-so-slightly larger for the subaru (IDK the exact) but the lugs center it well enough (don't get me started on factory Vibe lugs.... GARBAGE) I was only worried about the fronts and I put them on and carefully moved the car and then tested the "lock-to-lock" for rubbing... none...!!! And YES, subarus use a 53mm offset so they are a bit funky, BUT, IT WORKS..!!!!Imma happy boy....

Well there you have it. Nothing better than re-using something you already paid for.

That is what we thought when they went on... the origional owner was sooo happy and yet sad that they looked better on my 7yr old Impreza than they did on his month old Leggy.... lol... It's a shame they are so heavy, but, I have a fedish for Volk TE-37's, one day, they WILL be mine....
