Armed & Dangerous

Post by Herb »

I thought I'd mention this here because we're rather familiar with the Toyota Matrix. Two female patients were shot and killed earlier this evening inside the Mission Hospital in BC. The victims were apparently the estranged wife and mother-in-law of the suspect. The suspect is described as a 52 year old male with a goatee, and stands 5’9”, and was last seen driving a grey 2003 Toyota Matrix license plate 258 HKH. The suspect is armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him should call the RCMP.

You know, when he said that would never happen in the states, he meant that no Matrix owner would ever consider killing anyone (since the ride is so comfortable). But joking aside, it is a terrible thing that we have become accustom to killing as a means to an end.

I'm a woodworker, but this also applies to anyone with any sort of hobby/shop. I only buy a tool with the assumption that eventually I will use it for something, otherwise it's a waste of money. It's a natural male trait. All men have it, (except those with way too much money). So when a man buys a gun it is safe to assume that eventually it will be used for something. What's a gun really good for? Killing people.Would the victims listed above have been killed so readily if the perpetraitor had not had access to a gun? I'll bet not.KSNeptune

I think he would have prolly done it just the same with a different kind of weapon if a gun wasn't available.I'm not trying to start a debate here, nor am I trying to take away from the tragedy. I just wanted to say that people who are messed up enough to kill another human being, will do so regaurdless with a gun or knife or baseball bat... you can't put the blame on the gun, put the blame on the person.

Oh and just a little update on the story. The suspect is a Corrections BC supervisor, who supervises prison guards. He has been employed with Corrections BC since 1973.Not surprisingly, he didn't show up for work this morning.

It really saddens me to step back and look at what this world has come to...I mean, on the news today, the top stories are foiled terrorist plots, a bomb going off on Yale's campus, shootings in NYC, and suicide bombings in every nook and cranny of the planet.I sure wish I could see what the world would look like if there were a realistic concept of world peace...But as one person once told me, as long as their is religion, there is hate, and as long as there is hate, there is no peace...Granted, that doesn't stop the druggies and the nuts from killing...but when you think about it, there are far too many wars and bombs and stuff that are based on religious conflicts...But as silver said, don't wanna break out into a debate here...
