Cold Air Intake VS Short Air Intake, In winter?

Can any engine tuners out there give me some advice? I want to replace my Vibe's intake and I'm trying to decide between a CAI or a short 'ram' intake. The main problem is that I live in Wisconsin with it's harsh winter's and even harsher salting by the county highway crews.Or should I just winterize the intake (put the stock back on) along with the wheels?

Get a full CAI. You'll enjoy the power difference over just a short ram. As for the salt you shouldn't have to much trouble with the salt getting on the filter. If your worried about it just clean the filter every 10,000 miles or so during the winter months.

I live in Louisiana. It's very hot, and it rains often. the Humidity here is almost always retardedly high. Should I install a Cosmo CAI or the Cosmo short ram. If possible please tell me the power gain difference. Thanks in advance.

I live in MN and had my TRD cai installed for 2 yrs with no issue in those 2 winters or summers w/rain. If you are worried get a injen filter cap thing.As for power differences, the sri you'll see more low end and the cai you see more high end if im not mistaken. But being small NA engines you arent going to see massive gains, but more massive sound from the engine if you can control your gas foot you will also see a gain of mpg

No problems with the CAI in a foot of snow. I'm gernerally out before the snowplows in the morning I did notice a more drastic drop in mileage over the winter though.
