Well I am looking for a part time job that is some nights and weekends coming up soon. I used to be a server and have years of experience in that department. But I feel like I could not deal with that much of a rush anymore.I found a local pool hall that is actually a very nicely setup place with Olhausen tables and a contemporary setup. I've been there a few times, it's pricey but nice. They are looking for a part time barback. I used to BB at another place nearby in the summertime so it wouldn't be anything new to me, especially since I know a lot more about liquor now, haha.I am thinking of popping my head in to see what they say, I have no clue what the average intake of a barback is these days but at my other place like 5 years ago I was taking in $9 an hour and making about $100 in tips a night. So I'm not sure what this would do for me.My only other concern is I wont be around from the 28th till the 1st of the year so I hope they are leniant about that to a degree. Thoughts?

Thoughts?I'd go for it, if I were you. Be sure to tell them up front about your prior commitment for those dates. They will be very busy then during that time so they may want someone who can work then. But it doesn't hurt to try. One question is would the fiance be ok with you doing this?If not, ask her to look at the big picture that it is for the wedding or promise her that you will only work a certain number of hours per week or nights per week or only until spring if that helps. Good Luck!

She gave me the green light, I would save some cash since I wouldn't be drinking at the bars so much either. All the money I get in my regular pay would go into savings and I could use some of this cash for my extras like gas, going out, etc. Cash the checks so I would not have to worry about drawing from my account and just use the TIP money, keep me in budget more as well.I hope those dates aren't a problem as they claim to be looking for a part timer, so they may have someone already around to work then. Guess I'll have to find out when I stop in tonight, I'll keep you posted.
No but based off my works want ads and craigslist I have been doing leaf cleanup for people. Typically getting $200 for a few hours work on a weekend day. Not to shabby, and a fair price for a few hours labor. Good workout too. I just got another one to do this Saturday.Good thing I have one of those huge wheeled blowers!
Nah my only goal from her is to be debt free. Which I am working on vigorously (aside from buying the S/C intake tube, which I NEEDED!)Between her mom, pop, and my parents the wedding is paid for in full. Which is amazing cause that never happens anymore, my bro had to take a loan out for his. She has money to put down on the house and her only thing is for me to be clean slate. So once I get the ring and my one and only CC card left paid I will be golden! Just gotta get some extra cash to help supplement.
Wow -- not bad, your wedding is 7months away and everything is paid....We were still paying for stuff the day of the wedding -- there always seemed like one more thing that was 'NEEDED'
Already accounted for:-photographer-DJ-videographer-Reception-Church-Hotel, for us and guests-Bar at hotel Pretty much all the large stuff, we are only left with the Limo which we have narrowed down, flowers, and the cake. We are doing a cheesecake wedding cake, how awesome is that from Stockbridge Cheesecakes. Think Cheesecake Factory only better!
I don't know if I can talk to you anymore...I haven't been invited to the wedding yet.In fact... I might just have to start up a post for any takers to crash Whelan's wedding?
Haha!Honeymoon is done, well 90% done. We actually went to a wedding show and put our name in a box, ended up winning a 5 day stay at a really nice resort in Mexico. I think it's in Playa del Car just north of Cancun and Cozumel area. We had to go to some dumb 1/2 hour seminar and the guy was really cool. Only thing we need to do is pay airfare and give the hotel a $50 deposit to say we're coming. It's all inclusive and the resort is owned by Wyndham (good company). We are going to tack on a couple of days when we go to make it a full 7 or 10, not sure yet. There is also another resort 10 minutes down the road owned by the same company so we can shuttle back and forth to use their facilities and dine there as well if we choose. Good break for us!
