I got quotes for my wife's Aztek before I was laid off and they were between $200-300 for a basic remote start (no keyless entry) w/bypass installed. They said the cost would be pretty much the same for the Vibe. Maybe next year...

Remote starters start around $100. Before you install one, I would check out local laws. In Utah it is illegal to leave your car running if you are not in it. Even if it is with a remote starter.

depends on what kind and how good the remote starter is. imo, $100 installed for a remote start isn't gonna get you a very good one with range. maybe just a one way remote only. I have a 2-way remote with alarm system on my car. installed and done right cost me $600. i have about 500' range on the thing, depending on what kind of building i'm in to transmit the RF. my cool LCD tells me if someone tries to break in, windshield smashed etc, what door is open, trunk, lights, you name it. they only thing that I didnt' opt for on this unit is the fancy cameras that will send an image in the event the alarm goes off every 3 sec to the LCD display.

WSS ^ It all depends where its done and what brand you I went the alarm r/s route about 10 years and my system ran about $1000 with me doing the labor. Most of the cost was the alarm, (this was before they did all in one units) I think at the time they were running in the 300-400 range just for remote starters instaled with lockas and a trunk feature.Aron
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style
