DVD Recorders?

Post by zionzr2 »

I'm starting to look to add a DVD recorder to my home entertainmet setup. I have a few questions.I have an 42" HD Plasma screen with Time Warner HD/DVR service.I want to be able to copy from the CableBox's DVR to DVD.As well as record live from the cable box to the DVD.A Combo with VCR would be nice to copy the other VHS tapes i have over to DVD.What should I look for? What should I avoid? Why Dont they seem to offer a digital input for recording from a digital source (i.e. 5.1 audio, or componnet video input.)?Thanks All.

looks like your going to be the test subject on this one.I do have a cheap DVD recorder to record tv shows to. got mine at wal-mart I think it cost me about 50-100bucks. Other than record shows i don't know much more about it. "Why Dont they seem to offer a digital input for recording from a digital source (i.e. 5.1 audio, or componnet video input.)??Thats because your not soposed to do that silly boy... copyright infringments.I don't think you can even take movies that you recorded off an Dvr and burn them to a dvd with out cracking the DVR itself and removing the copyright issues.
