Having been a Vibe owner for a few years, and I've forgotten my user name here, so this is my new first post I guess. Anyways, autoblog.com has several articles today on the vibe including this one. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/1...ealed/I didn't see anything posted on this yet. Apologies if I missed it. I totaled my 03 Gray Vibe in May and just got an 07 Vibe. If only I could have waited for the 09 model.
I realize that there have been posts about the 09 vibe with pictures, but I didn't see anything concerning the just released press release from GM, including the street date and ect...
A mod could maybe start an 2009 Vibe garage thread in the garage forum...Looks like my fog lamp covers are not needed with this new Vibe. The fog lamps here look to be Lexan plastic and that is a good thing!
Ok, I have a few questions about the rear end...http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/...1.jpgIs the window too small to be 'legal'?and what are those three red squares just below the wing?

Hopefully this picture answers that. Just looks like a reflection of the underside of the wing to me. I don't know about the glass part though, But i would guess its legal.
Very interesting, things have been "reversed" I noticed that not only was the tailpipe on the other side, the wiper is flipped too. While it's very nice and will hopefully sell better, it's no longer up my alley for my tastes.

yah the squares look like supports for the spoiler....the rear window has to be "legal"...is there even laws that regulate the size of them?....i always wondered this since the law with tinting windows in pa states you have to be able to see through the two front side windows and windshield nothing about the rear windows...then when you look at delivery vehicles they have no rear windows like usually production models..i dunno...different countries or places prolly have different regulations anwyays right?
I hate the tail lights. I've never liked the round lights in the clear lens design. Too Matrixy. I wish they would have went with solid red.

i think it will open. if it weren't made to open, i think there'd be more of a weatherstripping around the edges.one other thing i noticed... " Vibes equipped with the 2.4L engine also come with a fold-flat front passenger seat". why would only the 2.4 engine have a fold-flat front seat? that doesn't make sense. just make it standard in all models.also, the roof rack is only available on AWD?

It took me a sec to figure out what I was looking at here, but it's to keep groceries from spilling. Hope this comes standard on the base model. And I see they added a headrest for the rear-center passenger.

nice!..i didnt notice the middle headrest!.... i was looking at that pic for quite sometime...i dont like the look of that grocery thing...it just looks strange to me....lol
hahah, (removed) i feel stupid...i totally forgot that you could open just the window on our vibes!! not that i would ever use it, i just open the hatch, its easier

I havent' seen it yet. I am able to fit 10-12, 39 gallon leaf bags in the Vibe. (with the left half folded down and the carseat installed in the passenger side - without my daughter in the seat of course)

I got a question...What's the second antenna (the stubby one) for? Other than that, I love the new version. I am glad to see they got rid of the cladding!
2006 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER Overall...an amazing vehicle for my family and lifestyle!!! Thanks everyone for allowing me to stay on GENVIBE SPECIAL THANKS TO KAMIKAZE FOR THE NEW SIGNATURE
Is it me or is the new Vibe no larger in or out compared to the original from 2003. If it is...it's slight. In fact I read it's exterior is shorter by an inch. Guess they trimmed the bumper? I was always hoping for a bigger engine. But could not wait. Had to get the '05. That 2.4L could be a Camry/Rav4 engine. If it's a GM...count me out.

The back reminds me of Dodge Caliber (or whatever it's called...you know...one of the Vibe/Matrix clones.) I'm keeping my '06. It's gonna be a looooooooooong time 'til the finance department donkeys see me again! Even though mine's paid in full, I'm NOT going through that h@77 again anytime soon!

Still like the 03-04 the best. Plus, a 2.4 with only 158 hp? Meh. I'll stick with my 1.8. I also heard they wont be called Vibes, but like all the other new pontiacs, be called a G something. Keep the names.

I truly don't like the look of the new Vibe. I have been in corp. America to understand how things are done. Like all manufacturers. They cheapin things. No more bodyside mouldings at the wheels. Which have saved my paint many times. Less glass at the rear. So don't bother looking. It's called cutting corners in one area...while changing another. I DO LIKE THE BIGGER 2.4L in the AWD. But how the heck are they going to fit it in there ? I suspect it may be no fun to service. "hey let's check the oil. But first remove the right wheel to get at the dip stick." smile...

Quote, originally posted by RIT »Many people are speculating that the rear hatch window will no longer open, but to me, it looks like it still will. Anything definite on this ?If you look at the 09 hatch glass, you no longer see the little black plastic bumps that covered the screws for the hatch glass supports. Here's an 03 for comparison

At least mine does. My golf clubs will fit in the back at the same time

The car will still be called Vibe. I don’t think the rear window opens on the new 09, but I will take a closer look at it tomorrow. There is a standard silver 09 being test drove by someone in the building next to the one I work in.
