Hello, I have a 2004 Vibe GT, 43K miles. The clutch pedal arm needs to be depressed until it contacts the pad adjacent to the firewall, thus contacting the neutral safety switch. The pad has a line "embossed" in it where the clutch pedal arm contacts the firewall. It is difficult to believe it was made to do this. There does not appear to be an adjustment to bring the neutral safety switch out towards the clutch pedal arm, short of bending the "tab" that makes contact with the switch. I think bending something that was not made to be bent is not a good idea. A half-inch would be perfect. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
first I tried tapinig a couple of quarters to the back of the pedal arm, and that worked fine, but then I found a little adhesive rubber foot off some thing and used that instead, and it also works fine
Thanks joatmon and Raven for the response. I will try the rubber foot idea first. joatmon, how thick is the rubber foot you used....1/4 inch or so?? Thanks again.
