Well, after 3.5 years of owning my vibe, i decided to buy a 2007 malibu MAXX LTZ. The vibe isn't leaving the driveway though... my wife is taking it over. after 78,000 miles and no major problems, i have been very satisfied with the vibe, and seriously considered buying another one, but the deal i got on the MAXX was too good to pass up. It was a GM factory/exec car with 2650 miles on it, loaded with every option available (heated leather, sunroof, DVD, XM, 6 disc changer, remote start, homelink, onstar) and i got it for $17,999 (stickered for $27,100).
An LTZ V6 for $17, good deal! Not to mention they don't make the MAXX anymore since the new Malibu came out, maybe they will redesign it to fit the new model as well. I always kinda liked the MAXX, reminds me of a larger Dodge Caliber, but done tastefully. Enjoy! Now you just need to talk to Drunken and get a dual exhaust.
3.5Li've been looking for a cold air intake, but there doesn't seem to be much out there. i don't think i'll modify the exhaust. maybe when the original needs to be replaced. i'll probably just put a clearshield bra on it and maybe tint the windows and call it good.i was kinda surprised they killed the maxx for '08. the '08 malibus look really nice, and the interior looks top notch. i've seen a couple on the road already.
you can get an intake here: (3 different options) http://www.doctorspeed.com/pon....htmli know it's for the G6, but it fits the maxx no problems.there are also intakes on ebay, but some people have been getting CELs from them.injen also makes one. (for the g6, but it fits)

thanks for the info. i'll check those out. i've seen the one on ebay, it looks too pieced together. i'd rather have one solid pipe and a good filter on the end.
I really need to take pics of the MAXX out in our parking lot... Charcoal gray with the gunmetel gray Cobalt SS style 18" wheels with So3 on them.. it's hot... Oh, uh congratz...
Nice buy. Only thing better would be a similar deal on the SS!Though the LTZ does have one thing over the SS: I really like the folding front passenger seat. Wife's car has that, and I've used it a number of times. Amazing what you'll be able to fit inside that car.I've recommended a year-old Maxx quite a few times to people seeking an affordable practical car. Amazing amount of car for what they cost.
