I have seen various methods of install for garage door openers in here. Some have wired a button to their remote and placed the button in the ever useless compartment to the left of the wheel.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=2556This was an excellent install, but I wanted something a little more true to my old car - the Volvo S80. (the B9 has it too) Well, Pontiac has it on the higher end models, but not the Vibe. Screw that, I'm putting it in myself. So I wanted to follow excellent install directions on the LCD Visor install, but I have the 04 Vibe - meaning the fabric visors (not pleather bound) so I was exceptionally concerned about the incision to remove the cover and how it would go back on.Well, I chose to use my *ahem* expert skills in cunning and construction to work without removing the cover (you'll see how it haunts me).I started by removing the driver's side visor from the car. Then, using my keen eyesite and a straight thumb, I located exactly where I wanted the garage door opener placed. Well, I then traced out the opener using a light pencil and drew an 'X' in the box. After cutting through the cover, I had a great 'X' marks the spot on the plastic that shapes the visor...now all I had to do was cut that out.Well, things went smoothly with the dremel tool, until my cell phone started ringing. *Always set your phone aside when using sharp tools kids.* Being distracted, I looked up momentarily and the dremel slipped and scored the cloth .There was a lot of fine trimming making sure that it the garage door opener was a 'press-fit' and hid the flaps created in the cover.I should have taken pictures through out the process and fully intended too, but you know how it goes when you get excited. After it was in, I didn't like the look of the warning sticker so I removed it. Would have been great if it were the vinyl (pleather) covered visor, but no its not. Now I have to go through with a clothes shaver or put on the new sticker I ordered to hide the material beading.Well, without further ado, here are photos of the final product.
