I've picked up a set of steel rims with snow tires and now i have to store my 'summer' wheels. The garage is getting a little tight, so if anybody has some creative wheel storage ideas, please share? Thanks!
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
if you got some strong walls, aka studs. you could have a pole sticking out of it to hang your steelies on.. mine are just stacked sitting in front of my car at the moment....
Kevera, That thing is sweet!I just put mine under my stairs in my basement...But I've been thinking about building a rack attached to the stud walls to hold tires overhead.
Get some metal "plumbers" strap and a decently thick metal pipe from the hardware, Pull enough strap to space the pipe far enough away from the celling, screw it to the rafters. Thread the wheels through the center (removing the center caps) and have someone help you hang the pipe from the plumbers strap... If you wanna get real creative, get some plasti dip and paint the pipe so it don't hurt the wheel finish...
thanks for the suggestions...i think i'll go with northvibe's idea though (i have a wall in the garage that's relatively 'free' of other stuff.kev...saw that on sale at Cdn Tire too...question...why do you need that? Why not just stack them???Sub...i thought about some form of 'hanging' solution, but I've got a fear of ceiling fans...i don't think i'd be able to sleep with my wheels hanging over the car!!

we got a few of the 4 or 5 shelf garage systems from Costco. took out the top shelf and used that to put our tires (2 sets) on. eventually, we'd like to do a wall hanging system, but haven't gotten 'around" to it.

the parts cart comes in handy. I put all the electrical stuff in that so Hope can wheel it right up to her car when doing stuff inside.I should take some pics and post up the current garage set up. I've got shelves, ceiling lights, work bench, wall mounted car vac and some other stuff.
