You can get either engine and transmission for all trim levels. Seems like the only differentiator between the trim levels are features, not the powertrain. Still no word on the AWD model. Maybe a chance that it has an even more powerful engine? Most likely not. I'm disappointed. At least this way I don't feel too bad about supercharging mine. It's not faster than both of the new engines. They went down in power on both! hah! Dumb!
one good thing (i guess) is that the 2.4l added about 30 ft lbs of torque over the vvtl-i It might perform better or more equally across the RPM range instead of the top end like the current XRS/GTs do.
ha i was right about the engines.. the current 1.8 or the dual 1.8 do just fine getting most people around...idk why people are so mad about it. but the 2.4.... mm with the turbo and sc applications from the tC theres potential...i just hope TRD makes one.
I'm not sure if the 2.4 is the same as the tCs or not. If so, then you can just use the supercharger made for the tC, assuming they share a common ecu and whatnot. Or even if they don't, use a different fuel controller.
its the same 2.4, they use it in the tC and camry. well...since theres already a SC for the scion...lets hope one comes for the trix/vibe... have you heard anyone trd sc'ing their camry's?
I haven't heard of anyone. From comparing tC and Matrix engine bays, they do look a little bit different but I'm sure someone can make it fit somehow. Shouldn't be too hard.
Since there's already a s/c for the TC,even if they don't make a kit for it.You could still use the s/c with an aftermarket piggy. There are lots of goodies floating around for the TC.
