CAI experience - What happens to MPG?

Post by Serpentine »

I'm considering the installation of a CAI on my base auto 2007 Vibe. While I know I should get a few more HP (7), I'm wondering what everyone's experience has been with their average miles per gallon.Much thanks....Barry

in my experience if i stayed off the lead foot addiction it went up like 1 or 2 mpg. I have a base model 2004 vibe with a TRD cai.

You will loose a few mpg.But that big 7 hp above 4000 rpm will make up for it.

I found I'm averaging a better MPG than before I installed it.

Mine went down about 3 MPG after I installed my Injen. I am in the upper 20's now, was in the low 30's. But I also installed a Magnaflow exhaust at the same time so that may effect my results as well.

For some reason.... I think Doax might post something here...I'm curious to see people's responses on MPG... and I'm sure with the sound of the sucking of air from the CAI it is hard to keep off the throttle... any real tests that it has improved your gas milage?

Mine dropped way down, went back up with the airbox..went down slightly with a short ram. Difference was 28-30 with Airbox 25+/- with intakes
