Which Head Unit to use?

Post by Kevzaz »

Alright, So I got a 2005 Vibe with M&T's and in January I get my license (hopefully if I pass) ANYWAYS. I'm looking to buy a new head unit because I want to hook up my mp3 player to my part (Meizu miniplayer) And I really want it to sound good, and I am looking to eventually add a sub then new speakers. But getting a new head unit is my first priority.Ok, so this is my first idea, the JVC Arsenal Series KD-AR480http://www.crutchfield.com/App...=5684Next is the Pioneer DEH-P3900MPhttp://www.crutchfield.com/S-R...=5684And this one looks very nice, the Sony CDX-GT410Uhttp://www.crutchfield.com/App...specsSo, give your thoughts on which one, or if you don't think any of these should be my choice, then give me your thought. Also, this is my first car, first head unit installation, and I am 16 years old, so don't be like ya, get a dvd play thing that makes coffee and messages all your friends where you are going and can drive your car for you, only for $100000. lol. Feel free to add other poll options retaining to the subject.

Even though I'm a JVC gal from way way back, the Pioneer is the best to me in your bunch.I can't believe how cheap and '90s the Sony looks, and it's the most expensive of the bunch. If I'm looking at it every day, I have to at least somewhat like the looks.LOVED the Pioneer DEH-P4900iB however http://www.crutchfield.com/App...=5684

I was clicking on the links to view the different HU's, when I went to click on the one for the sony I actually clicked on the poll... sorry man, I would go with the Pioneer, I think it would look best and probably work best for your setup.

So three for the pioneer.. Hmmm, The people at crutchfield also suggested http://www.crutchfield.com/App...=5684I dunno, its not really different than that other one, except for a different color. Umm, do any of you know if the pioneer will work with the stock amp and stock sub?

If you go to the Crutchfield site, there's a place where you enter what kind of car you have and what fits. If you select "Moons and Toons", they will tell you which HU's are compatible. No guesswork. I'd go with Pioneer. I've had one in my car for a year now and I love it.

I really don't know what to do. I am 90% sure I am going for the pioneer. Hmm, my friend said he can get it for me cheaper in this one club he is in. That would be cool.
