Hello, Fellow Vibe OwnersI am new to this forum. I have 06 Red Vibe bought it brand new last year and I logged 19K kms since then. It's been pretty good car with minor paint and noise problems. But 3-4 weeks ago, I started hearing a "click" noise whenever I make a full stop from a cruising speed like when stopping on a red light. The noise originates at the hood in front the driver. It looks to me when the tranny switches from 2nd gear to 1st gear then this "click" noise comes out just an instance. Has anyone of you notice this Click noise. I just don't know if this is normal or may become a potential problem later on.Thanks,Balakyot
Welcome to Genvibe! For the click, Personally I'm not positive, but since it's so new, and you have the warranty I'd take it to the dealer. If it's something that needs to be fixed, it better be covered under the warranty.
Fellow Vibe Owners,Yes, I did went to the dealer. The serviceman told me that the click noise is weak and only comes out at a very quick instance, it will be very hard to troubleshoot and find the problem. So he told me to return when the click noise becomes easier to find, like when louder. Anyway he said my warranty is still very far from over. But my point to be concerned of, is that it may become a bigger damage/problem before the click noise becomes easier to find. I just really like my car that I don't like more damage even when warranted.Balakyot
that is weird, but ya, the service guy is right, if they cant find it, they'll tell you to bring it back when its more noticable, or you can just bring it to my dealership and we'll know since we got alot of good guys there that know their stuff, some dealerships have idiots running it along with idiots working there
Sounds like the front brakes to me. The pads have worn alittle from your mileage and thus when you apply the brakes the pads have to move further in against the rotors to stop the car. Further then when they were new. If this is the case it is normal and the only thing that can be done is to have the pads removed, have silencer glue applied and grease all the caliper bolts, then re-torque.
