5 speed transmission or differential noise

I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!!!Tonight, finally I got around to doing a full drain and refill of gear oil in the transmission. So I took out the filler and unscrewed the drain plug, and about 12 ounces of THICK black oil drip out. Turns out I was driving around for three months on just 12 ounces of gear oil!! How the hell the tranny didn't just drop right out of the car, I don't know!! I am amazed it lasted this long.I will definitely be calling the dealership where I bought it from and the technicians who looked it at. The dealer who sold it told me they topped off ALL the fluids, and clearly they didn't. Also those mechanics should have checked the transmission oil as the first thing on their list when I brought in a vehicle with transmission noise.I feel like such a bonehead for not figuring this out before now...but at least it's fixed! Lets hope I didn't cause too much permanent damage.
