Save yourself the hassle. What the hell is DUAL? It's a cheap brand, they don't stand behind their product. You are much better off getting Pioneer, Clairon, Kenwood, Eclipse, Alpine...the list goes on and on. You can find a HU with similar specs, might have to spend a few more $ but you will be much happier. My first choice is Eclipse, great sound quality and unbeatable warranty. You will have to pay for the HD receiver, but you will be much happier with it.http://www.crutchfield.com/S-l...=5684http://www.crutchfield.com/S-l...=5684Either of these two are by far superior to the DUAL p.o.s. I have had several Eclipse decks in my car's for the past 10 years or so, and have nothing bad to say about them. This is the one I will be installing next week. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-b...avf=NI bought it on ebay for about $350

I never had anything by this brand, I'm a Pioneer guy, but it looks like it will work well with your stock speakers. The Crutchfield people are great, and the installation kit makes it super easy to install. I think you'll like it.Good to see the red V back.

Yeah, it seemed like a nice site, and it'll even better if I can install it myself.Quote, originally posted by K-NINE »Good to see the red V back. Thanks lovemyraffe, thanks, but $500.00 is bit out of my price range I'm trying to stay below $200.00 shipped. I don't need anything too fancy, although I'm sure the higher the price the better.

I actually purchased a Dual a few years back for my ex-wife's Nissan. It was this one: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-g...=5684 It is definitely not the top of the line for an audio person but it was just a small step up from the factory radio and a cheap way to get integrated XM. I have had no issues with the radio, nor the install from Best Buy.I would consider another Dual but I would lean more towards more established brands such as Sony, Pioneer or Kenwood if I were to upgrade the radio in my Vibe.Just my 2c...hope it helps.
I've got a friend that went the "cheap way" and picked up the Dual... They are cheap, but it would work... I know he started having problems with his about a year later... so please keep that in mind.I won't tell you what to buy, but you do get what you pay for. If you had to buy 2 H.U's in 2 years... would it be better to just buy one good one?
Based on what your looking for -IPODHD Radio MP3You may just want to look at this one..about $30 more but you can use the aux in for the IPOD and then get the integrated IPOD adapter later. I've seen good reviews on this one. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-c...=5684
I have these speakers in the front doors of my car. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-O...TO627I really like them. I think the tweeters are really crisp. They work well with my HU which puts out 25 watts per channel. I'm going to eventually get two more for my back doors. I really like my Pioneer HU. I won't recommend my model, only because it's not HD ready. I was more interested in Sirius.

Quote, originally posted by VforVIBE »what kind of speakers could I get, what sizes work best in da Vibe?I just installed the Infinity 6022si in the front and rear. Love them. They fit nicely without having to hack up the GM speaker mounts (popped out the rivets, drilled some new holes). Nice crisp highs, with a decent amount of bass for 6 1/2's. Although I did disconnect the monsoon sub (sounded too muddy with the rest of them upgraded.) As far as size, just make sure you get something slim enough if you don't want to cut apart your stock speakers.
V.... Dual is a well known GARBAGE brand... Denounced on every major Audio forum out there... You would be better off going for a "name" brand in this case... Alpine, Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic. Eclipse... others i've forgot to mention... Word to the wise, stay away from Dual.... And not to go aginst Kunkstyles recomendation, but, Infinity mids are also well known from not having very good bass response, they are great in the upper mid and high region, but again, are well known on the Audio forums for having terrible mid-bass.... I would take a second look at K-nines recomendation... I recently installed my Sony HU into my Vibes stock base system and it's not bad, for just adding a HU... There could be some serious improvements, but, for a DD, it's not bad at all... Maybe do the HU and then decide on speakers..???

I started with the HU, and upgraded the speakers a few months later. I'll probably upgrade the back door speakers this winter. Not only does it spread out the cost (allowing you to buy nicer components), it also gives you something to forward to.

You can get Dual at WalMart, same with Sony and some low end PioneerI'm not dissin ya in ANY way here man, i have a Sony and at one point they were on top of there game, but, in the car audio world today, Sony sits next to Dual anymore... just a FYI... again, not trying to offend

Much better bass response. Quote, originally posted by Sublimewind »I recently installed my Sony HU into my Vibes stock base system and it's not bad, for just adding a HU... I had the dealership drop in the HU I had in the car prior to the vibe. Made a fair amount of difference, even without upgrading the speakers.
