Drivers seat squeak

Post by discojunkie76 »

My 05's drivers side seat has started to squeak everytime i turn or basically move at all while im sitting in it. and when I push back it seems to lean to the right I believe this has something to do with the height adjustment since it does not move if it is all the way down, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and what was done to fix it. ( I weigh about 230 ), ( maybe I exceed the seat weight limit).

I've got the squeak, but no lean. I've been meaning to get under the seat with a can of WD-40 but have yet to get to it.If I'm able to solve it I'll post.

I had exactly the same problem on my '06. The seat frame is probably broken. If your warranty is done it's expensive for a new or used seat installed. I took out my seat and removed the cloth seat cover and welded the break. I don't think I have pics but if you look at the bottom of the seat back where it joins the bottom there is a round bar about 1/4" in diameter running horizontally. Mine was broken where it joins the frame on the left side which allows the left side to lift and the right side to drop. At first I searched the right side for a break and could not find one. I happened to notice a gap opening on the left when I put weight on the seat back. Hope this helps. Oh ya, I'm a 200 pounder as well.
