2008 Cadillac CTS

Post by Whelan »

I have not read the reviews or know all the numbers, but this is one SEXY looking Caddy. Definitely will attract more buyers than the current CTS did, good job by GM/Caddy on a great product!

I'd take a CTS-V, but not a normal CTS

I would love the V which will come out next year with a solid V8 in it, but the 3.6 with Direct Injection and 304hp is good enough for me.

I was just at the Cadillac dealership, they had this one, black, lowered nice rims, spoiler... it was... WOW, just wow.And from what I've heard, this is the nicest interior GM has put in any of their cars to date.

Based on reviews from those that have seen it, they say it's the best car that GM ever made.

The new CTS interior is the only interior of any car that I have ever truly been impressed by. It would be nice to have one with the direct injected V6, rear wheel drive, 6-speed in black.Or the 500 or so horsepower CTS-V.

the new cts and sts are very nice cars..driven both...they're definitly an upgrade from previous years..sts-v is a really nice car, we took it on the highway and went pretty fast...lol..cant say how fast but we were up in the 200's..only thing i dont like about all the new cadillacs..is that everything is electronic..in the last pic of the interior, theirs a screen that pops up in the middle..just above the little screen..maybe it's just my opinion, it is cool, but would cost alot to fix all the electronics in the car, but then again when you can afford a $80,000 car..i guess it aint a problem

Methinks it would look much better if it didn't have those stupid bling bling chrome portholes on the fenders. That really takes away from what is otherwise a very clean exterior. But that seems to be the hot trend, anything that resembles luxury has to have them. I thought they were finally dead once Buick, the worst offender for portholes, finally gave them up. But then someone came out with fake chrome portholes that you can put on your bling bling or ricetastic ride and resurrected this horrid trend that was probably best left in the fifties. lol!Aside from that and the motorized dash thingy which will no doubt end up breaking, it's a very nice car. Beautiful interior! Most excellent job, GM.

There's probably a fuse box there on the other side, that probably needs cooling... or maybe it directs air to the wiper motor, those need cooling too... lol If they do have a purpose, I'd like to know what it is. They look up too high and too far rearward for anything really useful but of course I could be wrong...They're probably about as functional as the ones my mom's old 1980 Buick Electra had on it from the factory... It was a piece of chrome on the front fender that had indentations in it that were painted black as to give the impression that there were holes there and it was somehow functional.

Too much chrome and the B(eew)ick vents made the new Caddi's look like (removed). The older CTS-V was hawt. Onlything appealing about the new one is under the hood.

I got to ride in a CTS-V not to long ago..!!! All in all, i was somewhat disappointed..!! I know it's hard to believe, but, it was REALLY small inside...?? It had a nice "push" to it.... but it wasn't really all that and a bag of potato chips.. The guy had an exhaust on it, which made it more visceral of an expierence, which was cool.... My subie would have still shown it the taillights... One of the guys there, worked for Cadillac and had an 09' CTS with the data logger and everything hooked up... It was a Subie meet/garage day, i was at, the head of the meet, his roomate had the CTS-V...

Do you have to compare every car you see to your subie?

i don't know, but my folks have an 05. can't remember if it's the CTS or STS model. all i know is i can get it sideways very easily. it's got some power that's for sure. nice ride and very swank. i'll be playing cheuffeur to my mom in it while i'm down there this week. just not allowed to get it sideways with her in the car. i received a good lashing for it the last time.

You know, I TOTALLY understand, i mean seriously, I REALLY don't like paying for 94 and i don't much like not being able to hear after long ride.... No interior really sucks... But, i have one for it it's in my other car... It's just that the minute i take someone for a ride, and i get up on boost, and the thing feels like it being thrown by the hand of god... it "changes" people...Now, i'm not ever TRYING to compair it to the likes of the cars the Mersbow gets to see, for good reasion, there is simply no compairison... It's just to the "normal" cars i see on the road... I haven't found on that stackes up yet... Not that i'm looking for races or anything... It wouldn't HAVE to be a Subie either.... I had a friend with a VW GTi 1.8T and he had done everything to it except for a new turbo... 140 was nothing but a pinky toe push away.... I get horned up over the "underdog", something that you wouldn't expect to be what it is, untill you go for a ride and your trying to hold your toungue in the whole time, so you don't step on it when you get out... I would bet you 100$ if i could get into a Vibe that felt that way, well, i'd give you the 100$...

Dude make a thread. I love modding cars and I can't wait to have one of my own to the caliber of that subie. Mine will not be a subie, but regardless, I completely enjoy the art of transforming a docile car into something completely ravishing.

(removed). well, after next summer, we'll be working on building a 98 2.5 RS coupe. and the LGT will be sold for an 09/10 STI hatch so i can have my vibe-like utility with 320+ hp awd goodness. as for the caddy, again, it's like comparing apples to oranges. it's a completely different car and class of vehicle. yes, i compare all things to my subie as well, however, the caddy is just an exquisite machine with both power (V8 Northstar) and sleek classic sexiness. they have come a far way from the old previous boats, that's for sure! as for fuel economy, i suppose if i really wanted something solely for fuel economy, i'd ride a bicycle or a moped. otherwise, i'll take performance, agility, utility with DECENT fuel economy than a plastic "car" with no power and no amenities that gets 70 mpg. laugh at the gas pump all you want, but really, when i don't care that it costs me approx $45 per fill up every 5 days i figure that's the same as me drinking a latte or two per day in order to ENJOY my constant driving around town. Since I'm in the car so much, I'd rather have fun and enjoy that drive than be irritated at the lack of power or response. but that's just me. at least i can get 18-20 mpg out of my car vs 10-14 mpg like i did in my Tundra! that is why people buy these types of cars/vehicles and others buy Prius's and other hybrid econo boxes. if i could have 400+ hp, awd and 40 mpg, i'd LOVE that! and not cost an arm and leg to get.
