I'm pretty sure this can be done. I just wanted to make sure that it was a normal process for painting like you would paint anything else.I'm going to buy a set of the RKSport roof caps off another member. I don't like the look of CF sooo I'll either get them painted Moonstone or Black... I asked the owner of the Body Shop I use when I dropped off my car today. He said he didn't know anything about fixing CF. I just need to know (like I said in the first part) if it's a normal process of sanding, priming, & painting. Thanks
I am not sure of the process and if it is similar. Typically CF uses a resin instead of a clear coat covering. I know it can be done and I have seen it done, but never inquired as to how.
I think that those would look great painted. The c/f look is what keeps me away from them. If you figure it out and do get them painted, be sure to post lots of pics! But you already know that.
well there's a bass ackwards way of looking at it haha That would screw up my color scheme tho Quote, originally posted by ajflan » be sure to post lots of pics! But you already know that.oh yes... there will be pics I have a couple other things I'm getting, too haha
Dude, leave it carbon fiber because it goes with the theme you got going on.Black cladding, grey paint.Very close colors to carbon fiber.Leave them.Get a set of black rims and your stylin.

I need to get pics so I can figure out exactly what needs to be fixed about them... He's supposed to be sending me some. I'll throw them on when I get 'em and take some pics just for you kev but I'm still determined to have them painted haha
kinda funny cause i was thinking of picking up the CF roofcaps from RK sport and painting them the same color as my car since i've already got the paint and know how to paint it properly
waveaction, so you paint it like you would anything else?I've searched around the interweb and found a few forums saying you have to remove the clear coat, which, isn't actually a clear coat but I can't remember what they called it
