Squeaks from left front

Post by chud »

Have any of you had this problem with your Vibes. I have a 2005 Vibe bought used and it now has 31000 miles on it. At slow speeds when you ever so slightly turn the steering wheel to the left I get a squeaking sound from the left front tire area. I pulled the wheel myself and found nothing wrong. Plenty of pad left on the brakes and wheel bearings seem fine, no play in wheel when jacked up. Took to Pontiac dealer and they could not find anything the first time but still making same sound. It is going back on Tuesday for the same problem. Have any of you had this same problem? Could the brakes be dragging slightly when wheel is turned slightly? HELP

If it isn't with the squealer's on the brakes, the only quick thing I could think of is: is there a wheel weight on the inside lip of the rim? is that touching anything when the wheel is turned? I doubt this is it, b/c usually if it's a weight on the wheel it gets popped off after a couple of times around...another Idea: did you try jacking up the car turn the wheel, put car in neutral, spin the wheel and see if you can hear the squeek? maybe then you can find it.
