http://www.thetorquereport.com....htmlInteresting pricing. Who would not pay the extra $2500 for just a huge power increase?

I never said I saw it or did'nt see it. I personally dont like the Mazda3. My friend in MI has one, and I did not like it at all. The is hardly any room in it. Yes I agree on the power, but overall it is just too small. But the G8 I definitely would take, but it would have to be the GT.

kev..mazdaspeed 3 is an awesome car, we had one in for rust proofing and i had to return it to their dealership..man the thing rips..shifting was so smooth, and the handling was excellent, if i still had my sunfire..i'd go for a mazdaspeed3..

I'd like a red one like that to match my Lava Vibe. GT with the manual (when it's available)

Thats gotta be one of the best looking Pontiacs I've seen in awhile. (Vibe excluded). I like the fender flaring as well, gives it a bad*** look.

That is a sexay beast... the interior looks VERY Cadilliac CTS... My 2.0l subie would still romp all over it.. (sory had to get that in there) Although, i wouldn't be carring any more than one passenger... Subie= non-luxry lol

Seems to me like it's kinda in the vain of the Mercury Marauder. Just a big luxury muscle car. We all know how well those sold.........

The G8 is sportier and should appeal to a much broader range of people, instead of just the older crowd. It's a bit of a stretch to compare the two.

Ya, it was based on the Marquis, and granted, it didn't look that great. But the same concept was there: Luxurious muscle. The G8 would obviously have more potential. I somewhat always saw the G8 as a suped up Bonneville because it has that size there but with extra power.

I see your point, but having RWD and an available six speed manual in the future should differentiate it greatly from the Bonneville. Hopefully cars like the 300C and Charger have warmed people up to the idea of the G8. I certainly like it.

The Marauder was a blacked out police car. There are two in my town, nothing special, good exhaust note, but that's about it. The G8 definitely has more appeal.Bonneville SSE was a bad*** car as well.

the only thing i dont like about the G8 is the fact its a RWD. I think FWD gives you more control. or am i wrong???

FWD generally means more control, but RWD means more power. AWD combines both of them, assuming there's a decent powerplant propelling those wheels.

I think FWD gives you more control. or am i wrong???To a point yes, Certainly in slick conditions many people attribute RWD to fish-tailing.BUT, there is a limit to how much power you can put to the front axle. Know about torque steer? It's something only found in FWD cars...basically, there is so much power, that when you first hit the gas, the wheels start to go to either side and tug at the steering wheel before you react and pull it back on line. Physics tends to limit the HP you can put to a front axle between 275 and 300 hp. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule... Put all the power to the rear wheels, that are fixed forward, and in the end, you're better off. Also think about a tricycle vs. a bicycle. On a trike, you have to pedal the same wheel you turn with. It's harder to apply power while in a turn. On a bicycle, though, all the power goes to the back wheel, and the front wheel only steers.I'm bad at explanations, but hopefully you get the idea.

I know that most racers prefer RWD but in areas where there is a lot of snow and rain and ice FWD is king over RWD because that weight from the engine gives way to much better traction.

However, LSD's and quality tires can make a RWD vehicle very controllable even in those conditions...

That thing would have done better with some ski's and a good push. Hence I bought the AWD Trix.

remember when pontiac redid the nose on the 05+ vibes, well they got the idea from the new Solstice and G6. So after seeing those pics that one guy put up of the 09 Vibe in Camo, the Grill looks almost the same as the G8, so i beleive you are looking at the new grill for Pontiacs.
