What did GM and Toyota Contribute To Vibe Concept

Post by ragingfish »

I was browsing the NUMMI site tonight, and came across a press release regarding the start of production of the Vibe and Corolla. It finally reveals what GM and Toyota each contributed to the development of the Vibe:"For the first time, with the Pontiac Vibe, GM proposed the overall vehicle concept and provided its design, while Toyota engineered and developed the vehicle..."Also noteworthy, this 1/2002 article also mentions something we all knew from the beginning:"The Pontiac Vibe defies the traditional vehicle classification. It has a spacious interior in the disguise of a compact car, with features of a sports car, sport wagon, and SUV all at the same time. It has received considerable praise from the automotive press since its unveiling at the Detroit Motor Show a year ago."Yay, the mystery is solved!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
