I found this "ZomkSpeed" intake on Ebay for the Trix XRS, wondering if anyone has any experience with it at all for my VibeGT...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...photo

well, I decided to purchase the intake. I dont expect to get the whole 5-10 HP for the intake and an additional 5-8 for the Grounding kit that they claim, but some improvement is better than nothing. I'll post pics and results when I receive it.

never heard of them, but it does look just like the cosmo... i will suggest that you pick up an aem dry flow and say goodbye to oiling air filters for ever!

Can't be bad, or can it... 50$ for that makes me wonder HOW they can do it... It says it has a stainless filter, but i wonder if it the oiled type or oiless.... Please review when it comes in..!!

My next planned mod after upgrading the stock speaks is the intake, let us know how it works out, seems like a good deal for the price.

Cold Air Intake came today! BUT... I had some troubles with it. I attempted to install it, but it didn't come with any instructions at all (and I dont have internet access at my parents house so I couldn't come on here to figure it out). I removed the stock airbox and just tried jimmy-ing it into position but i couldn't figure it out at all. Plus I was pretty limited with time cause I had to be at work, so I just got really frustrated and just put back in the stock box.Now that I'm at work and am able to access the site, I looked around for a how-to. All I could find was Lancer's install for the Base Vibe. Now, that is the same for the GT, other than one hose, right? My only other difficulty with doing this install is my battery. The + Terminal is corroded to hell. I haven't disconnected it since I bought the VGT, so I have no idea how to do it so I can remove the battery tray. I had a hard enough time removing the bolt the other day to hook up my wire for my amp... but disconnecting it from the battery completely is another story...

Ya, it is a pain. It is a tight fit and you'll end up pushing and prodding and what not to get it just right. Better off to remove the whole battery. Disconnect - first, then positive (of course), and remove the battery brace. The battery tray just lays in there. You're better off removing the driver side front tire and peeling back the plastic guard down there (be careful, don't bend it). Once you have everything connected up top then screw on the filter at the bottom.

Indeed! I did that the first time and then decided to trim a little off the end and my filter then fit pretty perfectly. A lot of the CAIs are designed for the Matrix, so the bend at the end gets messed up because our fog lights are in a different location.

Stop on by. I live in an apartment so I don't have many tools but I can supervise and lend a hand.

My CAI is FINALLY installed! Only took about a half hour to fully install it with a friend. Filter is a little tight against the fog light, but that was expected. I DID NOT trim off any of the intake. I also didn't use any of the bolts/washers/bracket/the vibramount that came with it. They didn't seem useful at all...The hardest part of the install was my + battery terminal (that was corroded to hell). Just had to run to Autozone and buy a new terminal and replace it...So, the ZomkSpeed CAI for the Trix XRS was a success. Install was easy (Thanks to Lancer's How-to) and the product looks good. And not to mention it SOUNDS GREAT. I drove home 2 hours from my friends house and just loved the sound. And then when I was just about to get home, there was another VibeGT that wanted to play... so I passed up my house and flew past him Now the cons of this intake...The filter is pretty crappy. Its just a stainless mesh. It'll do for now, but I wanna get somethin a lil better. The mounting bracket welded to the intake I BELIEVE is in the wrong location. Either that or I just did something wrong. I'll show you when I get pics.PICS WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS!!

Glad to see that it's on. Although I would put those pieces on it. They're included for a reason. They prevent the intake from moving around. If it has a lot of room for movement you could easily rub a hole in the side of it and then it is useless. How much is it pushed against the foglight? Mine was smashed against it so I trimmed it back.

Alright, here's the pics of the CAI. I love the way it sounds... my gas milage has gone down though (my own fault since I love the sound!)
