Buick Rendezvous Weekend

Post by Frosty »

My Sister was kind enough to let me use her new Rendevous to give me respite from the clunky old lumina I was loaned. I truly enjoyed the vehicle. People reacted favourably to it, unlike the Aztec (it's twin). I would personally prefer the utility of the Aztec if it were prettier. Please keep the flames to a minimum I found it to have a great interior. The ride and handling were very well sorted out, better than I would have expected a minivan based vehicle to be. Very good grip for the size of the machine. There were some cool features that I wondered if the the Vibe shared. Road speed Radio Volume Control- Adjustable road sensitivity. Very nice feature, the volume goes up and down as your speed changes. Is it on the base radio? the upgraded ones? Delayed headlights- The lights stayed on for a couple of minutes after you walk away. Does the Vibe do this? Cruise control light- My old honda's had one. The Rendezvous' is a cool looking light shaped like a speedo dial with a little arrow pointing at the dial. Does the Vibe have a cruise on indicator? I am foggy on this one. I thought I remembered some talk about cruise indicator lights but I can't find anything when I searched on cruise.Thanks.

My father-in-law just got one of these. It's nice.quote:Road speed Radio Volume Control- Adjustable road sensitivity. Very nice feature, the volume goes up and down as your speed changes. Is it on the base radio? the upgraded ones?My boss bought a Pontiac Bonneville and it came with a little better radio, looks the same except it has a tapedeck and a SCV button where the RCL button is on mine.quote:Delayed headlights- The lights stayed on for a couple of minutes after you walk away. Is it on the base radio? the upgraded ones?I thought I saw this option on some Vibe radio's, but I know mine does not have this feature. I have the radio that comes with the Moon & Tunes package plus the 6-disk CD-Changer.Update: Quote from pontiac.com:"Radio: Pontiac 100 Series AM/FM stereo with CD player, programmable equalizer,Radio Data System, clock, TheftLock®, and 4-speaker system (U1P) In-dash 6-discCD player with AM/FM stereo, Radio Data System, random disc function,speed-compensated volume control, programmable equalizer, clock, and TheftLock (UC6) "quote:Delayed headlights- The lights stayed on for a couple of minutes after you walk away. Does the Vibe do this?Nope, as far as I know when you turn the vehicle off, the lights go off. And that is if you let the Twilight Sentinel control your lighting. If you left the headlamps in the actual on position and turned off the vehicle (and removed the key), you would get the 'headlamps on' beep when opening the door.

On the Aztec issue my wife wanted one for the utility and space inside plus the gas mileage. We planned on getting one before we found the Vibe. The Aztec would be a great vehicle if the looks were changed.

I'll weigh in on the Aztec aswell...I borrowed my dad's for a few days last winter when we were moving in to our new home. I've never been a fan of the looks of the "Asstec", but it sure rides nice. IMHO the creature comforts actually do out weigh the vehicles ugly factor.I'd say the the Aztec is a great vehicle for retired folks, or seniors. Easy to get in and out of, comfy ride, and due to the unpopularity there are good deals to be had.
