I got my vibe through the GM discount. It was called a GMO plan (vs. GMS, S= stock, O = order). The retail on my car as about $23,500 (AWD MONTONE BLACK w/ moon&tune, power, security) and my price after teh GMO Discount was about $20,000. I also got $5,400 off y vibe because we have a GM Card and we have been saving it for many years. Bt overall, with the GMO plan, we saved $3,500 to $4,000 . Hope this helps. If you have any questions let me know.
Thank you for the info.Would it be safe to say that the total vehicle price after GM discount would be at/below the "Invoice" price?I'm just trying to crunch some numbers so I can figure out how much I'm would to have to finance.I too have a GM card that I first got while I was in college. I've got about $2700 on it now and my intent is to use that before they completely discontinue the "original" GM card (the good one)

IF you get the GM discount, go to GM.com and there is a section for GM employees. I forget the name of it, but if you put in the social security number of the GM employee you can get the price of the car with the GM discount. My parents bought a Grand Prix this spring, used my uncles discount and we knew the price of cars before we even went to the dealership. hope this helps.

Hey Salsa, I was able to get the "in stock" discount and still order my vehicle. It worked out to be about 5%. I was told they weren't offering the "factory order" discount which is closer to 10%.
Thanks. My brother tried to check out the price from within his system and he was having trouble. I'll check out GM.com and see what I can find out.I've heard that the employee discount in combination with GM card points will be discontinued in July next year, though I have not yet received "the" mailing. Too bad GM doesn't have better vehicles to offer. Maybe in a few years after Lutz has his way we'll see some good changes. The Vibe is a step in the right direction.I like the Vibe. I'm just interested in getting an efficient commuter. I've already got my road rocket (see sig.)

I purchased my GT off the lot with GMS and it turned out to be about 5% below invoice plus they don't charge the destination fee. Also check out the $500 rebate on Vibes, plus a $500 loyalty if anyone in your home leases or purchased a GM recently. I know that I saved about $3k with GMS and rebates alone.
I havne't been into the dealer yet but I'm trying to get as much info. as I can before I go, so that I don't get screwed. Are dealer incentives/rebates still valid if purchasing a car under the employee discount program? I've heard plenty of stories where dealers will not tell the customer about a rebate or deny that one exists then keep it for themselves. I just want to make sure I get THE best deal.Thanks.

I took the $1000 Cash Back and finance with a local bank for 5.9%. The other option was 4.9% APR(GMAC) for 60 months with $500 Cash Back. It was $15 less a month with local finance and $1000 Cash Back. From Pontiac.com, take delivery by 09/03/02 for all offers. Cash back ($1000) not available with GMAC finance offers.

HI, I got my vibe with the GMS also. I saved around 2grand, I also used lease loyalty (which they tld me was worth 750). Im leasing my vibe so who knows what really goes on in the background, with all the cap and the rent charge which is a good way of hiding the percentage of the loan. Here is the website for GM emploees http://www.gmfamilyfirst.com/ this is a good way to find cars on the lot and you can customize your own car.

Hey that sounds like a great price. One problem...I don't think you can use your GM Card savings with the GM Employee discount. Check the details on your card and find out the low down before you make your final purchase. Also, check with your dealer....they might be able to help you out.
I've got the ORIGINAL (Blue) GM card. Don't let a dealer tell you that you can't use the GM card points with the employee discount. That is not true. I puchased the car on last Thursday for the above terms. Just put 600 miles on it over the weekend. The "new" GM card is a POS What you said does apply to that one. After July next year, you won't be able to use the ORIGINAL GM card with employee discount either. That's why I made my move now, and took advantage of the $1000 rebate to boot.
