Newb

Post by ITcar »

Hey all,i just inherited my mom's '03 GT. I havent really looked into it much and dont know much about the car yet, but im definatly interested in possibly modding it. I go to Michigan State University and i grew up around cars so it would be cool to finally have one of my own to be proud of!Amanda

Wonderful, Michigan fell off the map around here, maybe you can start a new trend for Michigan. I was out by state a month or so ago on the Duc.Pictures if you have them

welcome to the fam, and congrats on the new (to you) GT. i hope you inherited it under good circumstances. you have 3 days to post a minimum of 5 pics, otherwise you will be banned. j/pi'm sure you've experienced it, but i'm not sure if you know what "lift" means, so i'll tell ya since you'll prolly be hearin a lot about it from us GT owners. lift is that boost in power your engine gets at higher rpm's. i think in your model year, lift kicks in at 6000. my 05 makes me wait til 6800 and a girl that's into moddin cars?? you're a woman after my own heart lol. one of the easiest things to do as far as performance mods go is an intake. i have a k&n short ram intake, and i love it. also, one thing you might wanna start savin for is a new clutch, they can wear out early on our cars, mine died a few weeks ago at about 32,000 miles. but there are some exceptions, so hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones oh yeah, and GO BLUE

ok, thank you for explaining the whole lift thing! lol, i was Very aware of that, but i didnt know thats what it was referred to as. I inherited it because my old cavalier took a dump on me, second engine blown in two years, lol. I have never had a car worth modding before so im excited! I'm actually interested in modding it more toward the autoX side cause the current car i use for that is a handleing monster, but it has NO torque at all, kinda sucks And about that lift....i dont have any right now, i have a lovely check engine light....there is something wrong with the valves at high rpm's (i think? i cant recall what i was told so if that makes no sense, im making it up! lol) lol, my parents told me they would get it fixed for me, but until then..no high revving it.i dont have any pics yet, and i dont have a camera so until the next time i go home, i cant post any, but i will, i promise!
