Test drove one last weekend. Actually, my wifes sister-in-law got it. They all went to a house party and I was the DD.Love the new look! Very aggressive from the front. The view of the back seems kind of heavy, like the new eclipes, but not as bad. Over all I dig the new look. Only got to drive it a few miles so I wasn't able to take it on any cloverleafs around here. It's got a 2.0L, 152hp/143lb-ft, MIVEC engine, which I guess is thier version of v-tec (you can correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just guessing). Car weighs about 2944lbs. It was a auto stick, not the GTS cause I didn't see any paddle shifters. I have to say I don't like auto sticks at all. And to make it worse it has the cvt transmission. Just like in my Vue. I HATE those! It's like the engine is a rubber band that you have to stretch, then it gets some power. In the Lancer, you step on the gas and not much happens until you hit around 4000rpm. Then the engine really kicks in and acceleration at last, impressive. It's really worse then turbo lag!!Handling was really good for being stock. Not too much sway around turns. Seats were comfortable microfiber, although, it did feel a little cramped inside. Has more room than a Jetta, though. It was dark so I didn't get a good look at the interior. But Damnd id they stick a lot of buttons into the streering wheel! There were gauges lights, and other things all over the place. Way to much info to keep track of while driving! Couldn't figure out the radio and drive at the same time so I can't say anything about the sound system. Over all I liked it. I bet with a few mods and practice it would be a little quicker off the line. Would I get one, NO. I'd save up for an Evo instead.

Good look, nice design, I hate CVTs as well. My biggest issue is that its a DSM car and they have not held very much in terms of reliability and resale over the years.

IMO I'm not impressed. but then again I've never really liked the Lancer. An Evo, maybe, but I just don't care for the DSM's.I'd take a Subi STi over an Evo.
I really like the new look... I read somewhere that they should be releasing a mid-range performance model like the Ralliart version of the previous gen Lancerthey do look pretty "big" though
The last gen Ralliart was hideous. The lip kit looked way to big for the car with its flares. The wheels were ridiculously small, made it look like a Suzuki Aerio. I hated the Evo then and I'm not a fan now either. Against the STi yes I know its a bit faster, but it feels way more tinny than the STi. Subie is def. more refined.
i love the original evo IX design. stocky and flared...not that i don't love the new lancer/evo, but the new ones are much more sophisticated looking now.not a fan of the cvt either. just feels like you're driving in one big gear.

I went to a Mitsubishi dealer about 1 1/2 months ago to see if they had info on the Evo X yet - they had nothing. The salesman said they are expecting them to be hot when they come out and they will likely mark up the initial supply to over $40k.Edmunds expects the Evo X to put out 320 hp and 325 ftlbs with 0-60 times around 4.5 sec. All speculation, but sounds like fun.Evo IX put out 286hp/289ftlbs.
