Volvo C30

Post by Vivid_Art »

What do you guys think of this turbocharged beauty!?! I love it, I'm already thinking of saving up all my pennies for one. Although it's a little on the expensive side and the mpg numbers aren't in yet.

Saw 1 at the dealership today, it's okay, not what I thought it was from the pics I have seen. The rear doesn't look that great in person.

Well its definitely a vibe replacement for me! The design is so sharp and clean, not to mention the the customization you can do to them from the factory. Kinda like Scions, but not. This is def a Vibe/hatchback contender.

What do you guys think of the hatch, it looks a little odd or should I say... different . Well in any case I'm getting one, hopefully in two years when my Vibe is paid off. This thing is a little pricey though, better make it 3years.

MT just did a comparo with the C30, GTI, and Mini Cooper S. Placed the C30 in 3rd place?!?!?It has the most hp 227 in the turbo I-5 and is only 1/10 slower to 60 and 1/4 from the GTI. I would much rather have this than the GTI, I don't like the new VW design at all. And the Cooper S is nice, but it's a chick car. Only one I would take would be the white one from the Italian Job.

Yeah honestly I dont care who I can beat in this thing, im just in love with it, lol. I've decided to put everything else on hold ( supercharger, Unichip, exhaust) and just pay my car off so I can get one of these. Heres a link so you can custom build your own and its actually a really cool website, just click on the car itself to build one.http://www.volvocars.com/campa...t.htm

YES I agree it is a little over priced and then once you start customizing and such it really starts to add up . I gues they are marketing to Succesful young professionals , so I guess they have money to spend. I hope to reach that bracket by the time the Vibe is paid off , ...yeah I can dream.

I guess its supposed to be a 2-door competitor to the A3I built mine, didn't look at the price but I got the color corodinated kit and the anthracite 18's. black on black interior trim. What a hot lookin little car. I'm sure Volvo will do well with this alongside the new S40 which I love as well. I'll take mine in hot red please!

Here is what CarAndDriver has EPA city driving: 20–22 mpgEPA highway driving: 28–32 mpgI don't know who's right but they're close. The Volvo site doesn't give any numbers, hmm well I actually don't like 19mpg/city at all...thats what I was getting in my 3.5L 6 cylinder Intrepid

I don't count fuel economy im my opinion on a car I would buy it. I'm guessing it costs waaaay more money than what I would buy it for.

If anyone cares heres another pic I found. This will be featured at the upcoming SEMA auto show. This is an upgraded version that produces 300hp! All with existing parts, so this could eventually become the C30 type R!The only thing that sucks is the price on this car, BASE is already starting at 22,000 something. Although this car is suppose to be very safe and is customizable just like the Scions, tons of different options from rims to all sorts of paint combos so its probably worth its price.

Yeah I really dislike the Evo, I love what they did with the engine, but oh man is that body kit hideous. I particularly don't like the huge (removed) tire in the back and the way they cut into the body to accommodate the tire, also the exhaust coming out right next to the tail lights?

Thats because it was built to be a formula 1 race car. ...and how could you not like those tires in the rear? Beefy!

I'd prefer it as a 4 door, not too fond of the hatch, but I luv how this one looks:

I've seen a handful of these around town - can't say I'm a big fan of the rear end. To much window space and the car looks bigger in pictures. To each his own

Well, this is the only Volvo I would ever consider purchasing, but I'd rather have a four door GTI. The back is nice, but the front says boring Volvo. What's the price like on this vehicle? I couldn't find any information.Edit:coldmm803, my neighbor has an A3. I was really impressed with the car's looks!

whatever you haters!! haha just kidding... I actually agree on the 2 door thing, but im hoping once it becomes successful and sells a few they bring out new models, like a 4door awd version with a bigger turbo would be awesome! I need all the time I can get to save for this car anyway, so i'll wait at least until the C30 type R is out

I was looking at the C30 for my next car but it doesn't have AWD. And once I added some other features it got pretty expensive. A friend of a coworker supposedly test drove this car and said it sucked and felt cheap. I'll most likely be sticking with the WRX.
