It's gone fer g0od :)

Post by tangerine »

Sold my SS to a fine gentleman from Kansas City. I got offered a deal I couldn't refuse and I took it. Thank god this time it wasn't a family friend that my dad will make me buy it back from when they decided they don't want it. I got the check from his bank and it is finally out of my posession. He even payed a lil extra for the parts I had layin around preparing to do that build with my uncle and ST-M. I am gonna take it easy for a while and find something easy on gas for now until I get something done with my case. I spent all afternoon looking for a black or fusion AWD Vibe but I haven't had any luck yet. I dont get why they stopped making the AWD.. Anyone know if the V6 AWD Magnums are reliable?

They stopped making the AWD (& GT/XRS) Vibe and Matrix because they didn't meet the new 2007 emissions standards, and they didn't want to redesign them just for that. They were already working on the new complete redesign, and the sales expected for these versions over these last couple years wouldn't make up for the development cost.

Man, i'm sorry to see the SS is gone, i've had a chubby for them trucks since they came out, but, oh well, you gotta do, what you gotta do...On the AWD, unless your getting into some serious snow, honestly it never used.. My Subie is AWD and i only ever use the AWD on the dirt roads round here and in the winter, trudging through heavy snow... A FWD will get better milage overall and with a good set of snow tires, it can be almost the same level as an AWD with all-seasions, but stop better...

I hated to see the truck go too, but with 114k miles on it and going through yet another tranny it was for the best. I was mainly looking for the AWD because of how much fun I had in my SS playing around on wet/snow covered roads. I also considered the Magnum because I think I wanna get back into building audio systems for a while, rather than performance. It's obvious fast cars are just gonna get me in trouble. (drove my dads corvette and forgot how fast it accelerates and I got a ticket for 28 over speed limit when I passed someone that was infront of me slamming on their brakes every 30 seconds).

I saw a black awd Vibe on my way into work this morning...The subaru impreza outback sport hatch is pretty roomy.

The Murano AWD and FX are nice, but for that price I could get an SRT8 Magnum. lol I can't get subaru's site to load for some reason to price the new impreza. If they are decent priced I could go that route. I need something that will be comfy and roomy for 4 adults since my friends feel they must always ride with me if we go anywhere..heh. Of course it still has to be auto... I looked at one of the new Tahoe's this morning and holy hell $54,000. My dad thinks I should buy a Diesel pickup since they get great milage and a diesel will last forever but good lord $50k+ for a truck is rediculous...can buy a damn C6 Corvette for $36k with the rebates. rofl I'v never understood why SUV's are so expensiveedit: wow that impreza sport is only $22k. I'm gonna see if I can bug my brother to take me and see if the local Subi dealer has one I can testdrive.

the new impreza hatch is built off the legacy frame so it's much more roomier. of course, you could go with an LGT wagon for ultimate sleeper look! plus the 5EAT is much better than the 4EAT that comes in the wrx. new 08 has paddle shifters too!

The dealership didn't have anything worth looking at. Car prices are getting rediculous and they wonder why they aren't selling. My dad took me to the dealership and told me if I was smart I'd use the money he and I put back for building the truck, and use the money from selling the truck to buy a vehicle that I am comfortable in and that can perform decent stock or with very little money into it and then buy a cheap used vibe since the car afterall did save my life. Does Street Graffiti still make their bodykit? I don't see why I couldn't buy a used Vibe for...roughly 10k cash, put the Street Graffiti kit on it and a sound system like I had before and call it a day. The Vibe held bass better than any other car I'v ever installed a sound system in, and this time around I could do it better. What the old man fails to understand...yea I could go blow the money I have put back on a car that I can go race since we are 15 minutes from the drag strip but I am tryin to use my head since nobody will hire me looking for a job it's gonna be hard to put gas in it right now and I'm sorry I swallowed my pride and fed off my parents after my accident. I'll go broke before I allow myself to keep doing it and if he can't understand it...too bad. I kinda need my money to last now.

I'm sticking with my AWD Vibe, ty very much!

Vibes drop in price? I payed 23k for my base vibe in oct 04 and the one I just called about is and 07 19.8k with 2k off. has monotone, moon/tune, painted grill and rear spoiler. Not bad. It's 65 miles away so hopefully I can get someone to take me out there tomarrow. Anyone know 'roughly' how much I could expect to try and knock off MSRP paying cash for a vehicle? I'v always had my dad do my haggling for me, now it's time for me to learn to do the haggling.

It's hard to haggle, when you live 65mi away, you can't simply walk out when they stop working with you....Well you CAN, but, it's an awefully long drive... Have you considered going and looking and haggling over the phone?

ouch. i paid $21K for my 03 Vibe GT in April 03. however, i usually prefer to talk to the fleet sales or internet sales. less problems. also, see if they are still doing the friends and family thing and if anyone has a coupon. one of the members on this great forum gave me one to use when we bought the folk's 04 Chevy HD2500.
