West Metro Detroit car repair shops? and Schoolcraft College staff/students?

I live in Livonia, near 5 Mile & Middlebelt, was wondering if anyone from the western side has any recommendations for/against any of the local area mechanics (Livonia, Redford, Farmington, Northville, Westland etc). Need to take the Vibe in for a good checkup and will probably go ahead and spend the money for coolant flush/transmission flush as well. Bought it used in November (2003) and don't know what kind of maintenance has been done previously. We used to go to a mechanic in Northville when we rented a place over there, but were less than satisfied after a couple of years and don't really live anywhere near there anymore.On a side note, any Schoolcraft folks here? I see quite a few Vibes parked over there, but never see anyone other than old women driving them, but I'm sure that can't be all there is
