man I wonder how he managed to flip it....I've hit some tight corners doing 50mph or better. Maybe it the wheels that I have on it cause some handling is lost when you go back to stock wheels, not to mention the Conti's aren't the best of tires either. One more thing if that is "Will" in the first picture I hope that aint a beer in his hand.

I hope drinking had nothing to do with that accident either. I would like to know how they managed to flip the Vibe as well. I'm sure it can happen, I would just like to know how.

Looks like stupid driving to me (80-mph speeds claimed). However, the Vibe looks to be a strong car. The damage is minor considering it was traveling 80-mph and flipped 4 times. Even the moonroof glass is unbroken. Impressive.

Good point Scott. I didn't see the 80 mph comment in there. Looks like a pretty safe car to me as well.

To clarify, in case nobody catch it, the person drinking was not the driver.

agreed I notice the damaged wasn't that bad either. I was more so worried about the roll over factor. I still cant wait to see how it will fair with the IIHS. when they test it on Dateline NBC

Well it won't help us understand why the picture was posted, but fortunately it's not a beer. If you look really closely at the letters on the side of the can, it says "Powerful Energy Drink" at one point. Still not sure what relevance it has to the post.

What I can see from here the Vibe is totally covered with dust.So probably they were on a dirt road.Which is realy stupid to go with 80 on a dirt road. But it's good they made it.

Even the the paved highways, your car could get pretty covered in dust out there.

yeah im not sure what kind of beer comes in a 6.5 ounce skinny can like that, i havent seen one yet. plus it is a can of AMP energy drink. in college we get familiar with all kinds of beer cans, and other beverage cans especially energy drinks for long nights of studying, so i really see nothing wrong with the picture.yogi

DOH! Daily bandwidth limit exceeded. So, I'll comment w/o seeing any of the pics. Hopefully they'll all be OK.I remember reading about a guy who rolled his Matrix. Nasty wreck involving a semi and all that, IIRC. The pictures were really impressive. Unfortunate as it's something that all of us would rather not see or hear about, but impressive nonetheless. The way the roof stayed intact was impressive. The rear quarter windows were busted out, but other than that it held up very well, considering... He and his family made it out unharmed I believe.I did no research on these cars prior to buying one. Considering its small size, I swore it would suck in an accident - but it's proven to be quite the opposite. GM or Toyota, whoever designed the structure did a pretty good job. It's a car I can feel safe in - I feel much safer in this thing than I did in my last car, and it was much larger than the Vibe.

Apparently most of you did not read the comments. The vehicle went OFF the road and hit a fence. That explains the dust on the car. They were not going 80 miles an hour on a dirt road.Thats also not a can of beer. Its some sort of energy drink like Red Bull or something similar. I don't see the point in posting that pic since a lot of people will assume he was drinking and driving.

It is not an amp can, that is for sure because those are green and black (and my fav)... but i do like how people jumped to the conclusion that a kid would be drinking and driving. Although anyone should know that beer cans aren't that small.I believe there is a caption to the picture that would explain why. He was just showing everyone what his friend looked like, and he posted a quote from him as well. Probably just to make it hit closer to heart.

Well i guess they are making them better now days considering the damage, thats one of the main reasons we bought the Vibe the 5 Star crash rating, driver and passenger we had a 98 Malibu that was only a few months old my son was driving (Sheriffs est 110 mph) in 35mph Zone spun it around hit two big trees(Had all the windows down probably why it did not roll over) tore off the the front end except for the hood, motor assembly was 85ft from car about the only thing good on it was the trunk lid and all he got was a broken collarbone and quite shaken up. St Cristopher jumped out if you know what i mean. (Thank God for the Air Force) thats where he is now. Luv our vibe
