got out of work a few mornings ago and there was a mist on the car windshield. left streaks so i pulled the lever, no spray. oddd. try again, still nothing. i'm not sure what is going on. i don't hear the pump when i pull the lever but if i rotate the switch for the back window the pump works becaues i can hear it and the liquid comes out the back. now are there 2 pumps? one for the front and one for the back or is there just one? i know the hoses aren't leaking cause i had someone pull the lever while i was under the car. nothing was dripping. i was thinking it might be a fuse, but i can't get of all of them in the interior, how do you all get them out? (too poor to get a fuse remover, other options?). might it be a wiring problem somewhere? thanks in advance. i would take it in but i really don't have any money for a mechanic to fix it let alone look at it. btw, everthing else seems to work; variable speeds, intervals, back window controls, all that, but not the front sprayer.
There are two pumps, I do believe - I can't really see it being on one pump since if you ran it, it would spray both ends of the car. I had the rear one flake out when I had my Vibe. The front worked fine but the rear didn't, had the pump replaced under warranty. I would think it would be covered by the same fuse, but the pumps would have different wiring. For the fuse puller: I could have swore the Vibe had a small white fuse puller tucked neatly somewhere, maybe in the underhood fuse compartment? I can't recall with any certainty, these little things all blur into one big car over time. Hope you can get it straightened out!

CP you are correct. There are two pumps, both are mounted to the fluid tank itself. Also, there is a provided fuse puller in the underhood fuse box. I no longer have my fuse diagrams to tell you which one to check, unfortunately. Check both the underhood and passenger cabin panels for blown fuses.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
do you know where the front pump is located? i know where the one for the back is cause my wheel well is torn up there and i can see it and i had my hand on the pump when i had someone else turn it on. i have an on lid diagram and i also checked the manual for where the fuse is. i'll check the hood for the puller.
ok, i'm going to do this later today, but i'm not taking the bumper off. not enough time during the day but i have skinny arms so i'll just try feeling around. i hope it's just a loose wire.
Both the front and rear washer pumps get power from the "WASHER" fuse, which is in the under dash fuse block. If the rear pump is working, then it is not a fuse problem
ok, i managed to get undneath the car enough to find the other pump. interesting thing i found out. the pump that provides washer fluid for the hood/front windshield is located in the back of the resivoir. and the pump for the rear windshield is located on the front, closer to the front bumper. the cord was not long enough to switch both powering cables around, but the one that connects to the front ( gives fluid to the front, located closer to the wheel) can reach to the other one. when i switched that cable and then pulled the wiper control (normally triggers front wipers to move and pump fluid to hood/front) the front wipers went and fluid came out the back. so, relays are ok just the pump is dead. cost 21.80 after a $5 disount. so it's $25 before tax. not bad, way less than i was expecting. should have it tomorrow. i'll try and post some pics and tell you all how it went. hopefully it'll go easily.
